One trait stands out across every great engineer I've worked with: They're always willing to learn. Early in my career, I assumed the best engineers were the ones who had all the answers. But reality was the opposite. The people I admired most were the ones who could confidently say: 👉 "I don't know… but I'll figure it out." What makes them different? • They stay curious, even after years of experience • They're open to new approaches if it solves the problem better • They don't cling to what they already know • They optimize for outcomes—not ego The surprising insight Senior engineers aren't “know-it-alls.” They're fast learners. They ask better questions. They explore better options. And they’re comfortable being wrong if it leads to a better solution. The shift that changed things for me Moving from: "I should know everything" to "I’m here to learn anything needed to solve the problem" made a huge difference. Curiosity scales. Ego doesn't. And in the long run, one compounds a lot better than the other. Comment, Share,♻️ Repost it to your network if you liked and follow Daniyaal Saifee Nayeem for more.
Apr 2026Everyone is talking about diversity. But are we truly building workplaces that can sustain it? We celebrate hiring women, showcasing numbers, and highlighting representation but what happens after the offer letter is signed? The reality is more complex. Diversity often comes with unspoken “terms & conditions.” Flexibility is limited. Expectations remain rigid. And the system rarely adapts to the multiple roles many women navigate every single day. The result? Women are often forced to choose between: • Career growth and personal responsibilities • Performance and well-being • Ambition and stability And sometimes, even stepping away altogether. So the real question is : Are we genuinely enabling inclusion, or just measuring diversity? Because hiring diverse talent is just step one. Creating an environment where they can thrive without compromise is the real work. Until organizations move beyond policies on paper and truly embrace flexibility, empathy, and structural change, diversity will continue to come at a cost often paid silently. It’s time we shift the conversation from “Are we hiring diverse talent?” to “Are we building systems where they don’t have to choose?” #DiversityAndInclusion #WomenAtWork #WorkplaceCulture #Leadership #FutureOfWork
