It was truly a special moment to be present during the delivery of the judgement with summary reasons. I am currently working closely with Gilbert + Tobin ’s Native Title team in my first rotation. The decision deals with a number of novel legal issues. It will be interesting to see how this case develops going forward and its practical interaction with industry and the Native Title space.

This was an incredibly complex, multi-year engagement involving multiple amendments and restructurings of the debt structure, capital stack and operating business and assets, but ultimately culminated in a successful refinancing and a great outcome for all stakeholders. Congratulations to the lender group, WhiteHawk Capital Partners , The Star Entertainment Group McGrathNicol and Clifford Chance and the large contingent from Gilbert + Tobin team who supported on this over the years, in particular Alex Tonkin , Luke Barratt and Kosta Patsiotis .
