Last week, I had the pleasure and privilege of attending GitLab's President's Club in Mexico at the wonderful Banyan Tree Mayakoba . The experience was unforgettable. We had the opportunity to celebrate our successes, meet new friends and get a solid dose of inspiration on how GitLab is set on becoming the leader in the agentic era of software development. I would like to sincerely thank my leadership team for this recognition! ( Bill Staples , Ian Steward , Duncan Greenwood , Andre M. Braun , Piotr Faderski ) I will do my very best to get invited next year :) To our Events Team- Thank you all for making this possible, you have done an incredible job. The venue, the attention to detail, the experience — all top notch. You are the best! To my colleagues- I think my dear wife Jill O' Donnell summed it up best, when she told me "Jan, you work with some great people." It has been a rough time for everybody in the tech industry , the lack of stability is definitely not nice , Working at GitLab has been one of the best things that has ever happened to me , not just on a career level , but also on a personal level , It came at a point in time in my life where I truly thought things would never get better , but it did , and that's why I am hopeful. It is uncertain , I definitely am not sure if I'd get to keep my job or not , however this journey will always be special to me , I have met such amazing people on the way , even now as we worry together , we joke about it, vent it all out in the #allcaps channel , we support each other , we come to team standup calls and play games together and that is a memory I will always cherish regardless of the outcome. It is truly a time that we need to come together as a community and help each other out , my dms are always open for anybody who might be looking for some support , guidance , or anything I can offer , unfortunately I cannot refer you if we have never worked together since it is against our referral policy ( https://lnkd.in/g_RSyaQM ) however I am always ready to share my experience if that helps.
