Excited to finally share something we’ve been working on 💎 Bringing this film to life has been both exhilarating and incredibly rewarding. If I had to describe the entire process in one word, it would be Rollercoaster because it was fast-paced, challenging, and full of learning for us. Every moment behind the scenes added something new to the experience. Watch the film now! A special mention to Sohini Lahiri and Darshana Hedaoo for their immense effort and passion in making this film happen. 🌟
May 2026Recruiters don't look for your knowledge of frameworks anymore, they are looking for something far more fundamental. Top recruiters in today's world are no longer worried about a candidate finding data (with GPT, that's a well-written prompt away). It’s more about whether they can synthesize it. Having studied before and during the era of GPT, I currently notice a widening "Synthesis Gap" in students and young professionals. Despite having access to more information than ever, the ability to build a coherent, stress-tested narrative is becoming a rare commodity. When a student prepares for a consulting case or a placement interview, they often fall into the "data trap": 1. They provide facts without a "So what?" 2. They build models that are visually appealing but logically thin. 3. They struggle to connect global macro-trends to local market realities. At Dot - News, made new , we’re currently working with leading schools and institutions in India to move beyond simple "access." We are focusing on how simple yet in-depth journalism and explainers can be used as a "critical-thinking gym" to help students sharpen their ability to synthesize complex events into actionable insights. We've seen that when students engage with depth-led content, their ability to navigate case interview ambiguity improves significantly. To my colleagues in academia: As we look at the 2026-27 placement cycle, how are we formally measuring "synthesis" in the classroom? Is it time we move away from traditional reports and towards something else that demands a clearer point of view? I’d love to hear how faculty members are helping students move from "searching" to "understanding." #ManagementEducation #PlacementReadiness #CriticalThinking #Consulting #BschoolIndia #DotNews #HigherEd
May 2026A mentor once told me I could have any three of the following: sleep, exercise, a social life, or meaningful work. Pick three. Live with the fourth being on fire. I didn't know it then, but he was describing the Four Burners Theory. The idea is simple. Your life's stove has four burners. Family, friends, health and work. The theory states that to be successful, you need to turn off one burner. To be very successful, you need to turn off two. The first time I heard this, my instinct was to reject it. It felt like a cynical excuse for neglect, like when your friends cancel on vacation plans for the fourth time in a row. Surely the answer is just better time management? Except, the more I adult, the more I think the theory isn't cynical at all. It's just accurate. The burners, however, don't go off permanently. They rotate. There are seasons in life where work demands everything. There are seasons where health slips, and you make peace with that temporarily because something else matters more right now. The mistake isn't turning a burner down. The mistake is not knowing which one you're turning down, and pretending all four are still running at full heat. The people I've seen burn out fastest weren't the ones who sacrificed a burner deliberately. They were the ones who never admitted to themselves that one was already off, and kept feeling guilty about it anyway. So here's the question worth sitting with: which burner are you running at low heat right now? And is that a choice, or just something that happened to you?
