Anyone who has helped a parent or child through a serious diagnosis knows how much gets lost between appointments. You have notes on napkins, half-remembered instructions, and family group texts trying to piece it together. The harder the diagnosis, the more this matters. That gap is what Arpan Parikh, MD, MBA, FAPA , Amit Parikh MD , and Kyle Alwyn are closing with Kin. Today they announced a $9M seed led by Maveron. I’ve been using Kin for my appointments, my kids' appointments, my parents’ appointments, and specialist visits. Walking out with a clean summary beats calling the office a week later to ask what the doctor said. Kin records your doctor visits, turns them into plain-language summaries, and over time builds a real record of what your doctor actually said. When we started GoodRx, we made prescription prices transparent. We pulled something patients could not see and put it in their hands. Kin is doing the same for what happens inside the exam room. Patients deserve to understand their own care. Congrats to Arpan, Amit, and Kyle. Excited to be part of this.
May 2026I've been asked many times what my favorite moment at GoodRx was. It wasn't going public. It wasn't leasing a huge office, doing fireside chats or seeing our ads on TV. It was that magic moment when you realize you've created something that can dramatically improve people's everyday lives. I got to relive that moment many times - a stranger pulling me aside to tell me how I helped their mother, an Uber driver telling me how his family could finally get life-saving medicines. That's what's always driven me. I didn't think I'd have that feeling again, as it's so hard to find, let alone execute. And then I met Arpan Parikh, MD, MBA, FAPA and Amit Parikh MD . One thing Trevor Bezdek and I knew from GoodRx was that cost is only one reason people don't get the care they need. Even when we made meds super-cheap or free, people didn't take the steps they needed to improve their health. One obvious reason - healthcare is confusing. Medical information is complex, and patients typically receive information in a rushed, stressful environment. For example, my primary care doctor hands me a printout - yes, this is 2026 - with important things I should do. Stuff like getting a colonoscopy because I'm at higher risk, or finding a specialist for an ongoing issue. And I leave his office determined to do these things - until life happens just a few hours later. I forget doctor names, medications, procedures I was supposed to do, I lose the paper...you know the drill. For complex cases, senior citizens and caregivers, it's even harder. Good luck keeping your doctors, medications, visits, imaging, diagnoses organized. Arpan and Amit had a simple idea - just capture doctor visits as they happen. Then use a custom LLM to turn the data into simple, actionable tasks. Make it easy to share with loved ones. Heck, convert it to Spanish. With very little effort, patients (and their loved ones) could create their own health coach and make sure they followed their doctor's orders. Kin is so simple to use and so profoundly life changing for myself and my family. It's one of those no-brainer products - once you use it, you wonder how you ever got by without it. We keep reading about the bad news in healthcare - doctors are too rushed, information overload confuses patients - but this product can truly help. One of my (amazing) doctor friends just tried it for the first time - his first words to me: "Kin is freaking unbelievable!". 😊 I couldn't be more proud to be a part of the Kin family, and I can't wait to see the outsized impact that Arpan, Amit, Kyle Alwyn and the rest of the small (but growing) Kin team have on the world.
May 2026After five and a half years with GoodRx, I've decided to hang up my yellow spurs and pursue a new opportunity. I'm so thankful to have been part of this wonderful brand, one that does so much to make prescriptions and healthcare more affordable for so many across this country. And I'm incredibly proud of what we built together. We added tens of millions of new customers and brought all our brand health metrics, including awareness, to all-time highs. Our team earned recognition for a data-driven approach rooted in marketing effectiveness, and we successfully launched a refreshed brand strategy and The Savings Wrangler platform, GoodRx's first new brand effort in years. That work has driven sustained increases in consumer demand and engagement, and direct growth for important new solutions like GoodRx for Weight Loss and our brand drug savings solutions. Throughout the many changes the business navigated over the years, the GoodRx brand and the marketing work that nurtures it remain undeniable strengths. Strengths recognized by the industry, the business community, investors, healthcare professionals, and most critically, consumers. Thank you to the many people who helped shape my journey at the company, and to the best marketing team one could hope to work with. I'll be back soon with an update on what's next.
May 2026The most interesting thing happening in health tech right now isn't one company. It's a pattern across all of them. I don’t see anyone else talking about this. At least not in a broader industry, societal impact level. Function Health started in D2C. Now they're moving into employer benefits. Maven built their business through employers. Last month they launched a D2C platform for women without employer-sponsored coverage. Two companies. Different directions. Same underlying realization. No single distribution model reaches everyone. I've watched this from both sides. At Elevance I spent years building member engagement programs for clinical benefits distributed through employers. At GoodRx I worked on D2C health subscriptions and condition-based product launches including GLP-1. I've seen what each model does well and where each one leaves people behind. B2B2C gets scale. But only for people with the right employer. D2C reaches the gaps. But affordability and access are real barriers. The companies expanding across both are essentially admitting what anyone who has worked inside this system already knows. One model was never going to be enough. It’s a great business opportunity, but also an opportunity for more access to more people. Western medicine has historically been set up to treat you when something goes wrong. This whole category exists because proactive, preventive care was never prioritized the way it should have been. These companies are trying to fix that. But there are still real people falling through. The person working three jobs with no employer benefits, making too much for Medicaid but not enough to take PTO to see a doctor. The infrastructure is moving in the right direction. The access gap hasn't closed yet. I haven't seen many people stepping back to look at this pattern as a whole and what it means for access. So I'm doing it here. What companies do you see doing this well? I'm genuinely watching this space closely. 💎
Apr 2026They're all over social media as the latest "biohacking" craze. RFK Jr. is a self-proclaimed big fan. But are peptide injections actually safe to use (and what exactly are they, anyway)? Here, GoodRx pharmacy director Alyssa Billingsley, PharmD breaks down this growing trend, from which peptides are FDA-approved, which are being studied, and what to think of so-called "grey market" and compounded options. https://lnkd.in/eFQekU4q
Apr 2026I'm hiring! I need a doer who is eager to learn more about the world of Brand Pharma Affordability to join my team as an Account Specialist. My team at GoodRx works at the forefront of the rapidly changing self-pay landscape. We represent one of the most trusted consumer healthcare brands in the country, and the work we do leads to true growth and access for a wide portfolio of manufacturers. If you've ever worked with me, you know I like to work in the deep-end of the pool as it's being dug up. If that sounds exciting to you (or if you prefer to build the plane as it's taking off) I want to talk to you! https://lnkd.in/eJhek9DK
