In my 2.5 years at Grafana Labs, people often ask me why I joined, how my time here lives up to that, and what excites me about the future. I always come back to 3 things: - People - being surrounded by incredible (and kind) human beings, in a world class sales organization, driven to do amazing things together as one team. - Product - bringing a highly differentiated offering with clear PMF to market, in a space that is a must-have, not a nice-to-have. - Potential - being a part of something bigger, with incredible growth opportunities, not just personally but as a whole. After spending the last week at Grafanafest in Vienna, alongside 1,500 of my colleagues, it only reinforced each of these. - People - we have a world class organization, period. Everyone from GTM to Engineering to G&A is in the boat. I'm especially fired up about AMER Force One, being driven by Ryan Andrews. - Product - AI is evolving rapidly, and we're taking advantage of it in our own offerings. That means thinking customer-first in how we are shipping with intention, not just for the sake of “having AI”. Our customers are seeing real value every day. - Potential - the observability market is at an inflection point. Customers are tired of the legacy way, and want an offering that gives them the ultimate cost to value ratio. AI is only going to continue to bring tailwinds to an already massive market, and we are primed to take advantage. I'm more convinced than ever that we're building something special. Glad to be here! Sep 2026We're hiring! Want to manage a team working on interesting architectural and operational problems for Grafana Labs' Grafana - the most important Open Observability tool there is? Please apply!
May 2026For most of my career, I’ve convinced executives to spend more on technology. 30–50% more. More capability. More scale. More ROI. But the AI era is changing the game. The winning companies are not always the ones spending the most, they are the ones making smarter decisions. And nowhere is that more obvious than Observability. Costs are rising fast. What used to be an engineering problem is now becoming a CFO conversation. Yesterday alone, I heard from two prospects: “My CEO is asking why we’re spending so much on observability.” At the same time, AI-driven enterprises need observability more than ever. More services, more telemetry, more complexity. But do you really need to collect all the data? The smartest companies are deciding what to ingest, what to keep, and what actually delivers value. That’s the power of Adaptive Telemetry: less noise, lower cost, faster MTTR. Big week for Grafana Labs ANZ: 📍 Gartner IT Infrastructure, Operations & Cloud Strategies Conference — Hilton Sydney today 📍 AWS Summit Sydney — tomorrow & Thursday If observability costs are becoming a boardroom conversation in your organisation, come find us this week. https://lnkd.in/gKzqNJcV
May 2026Best thing about a Grafana Labs event: hearing from practitioners about what's actually working behind the scenes. Kevin Panahi from Favor Delivery shared at Observability Sessions ATX how their team built a culture of operational readiness using Grafana Cloud. Key takeaways: 🔍 Creating a shared definition of what “healthy” services actually look like 📊 Using SLOs and #observability to drive clearer action across engineering squads 🤝 Turning operational readiness reviews into a repeatable feedback loop between SRE and software teams ⚡ Reducing alert fatigue while improving monitoring maturity across ~100 services 🔁 Relevance in context > everything What stood out to me was that a lot of Kevin's best practices weren't just about tooling, but also about alignment, communication, and making observability actionable for engineers at every level. Thanks Kevin for sharing a look into Favor’s journey 🚀
May 2026Just wanted to take some time to reflect, a year ago, I was unemployed for 7 months, coming off a great opportunity at Cisco that ended with my whole department getting laid off. Working has been my identity, and I had to figure out who I was without it. Went to Europe for a month, dove into travel, learned from people, and discovered what I was passionate about. This all led to my journey to Grafana Labs, a company that is quite the opposite of Cisco, smaller, more agile, and a challenger in a market that has several leaders. Today we are at the top of Gartner, we don't miss our number, and we continue to influence the O11y space. Today is my 1-year anniversary, and I couldn't be prouder to be a Grafanista. We are challengers and changers. Excited for all the years to come. As Jelly Roll says, the windshield is bigger than the rear-view mirror for a reason!
May 2026From London to Las Vegas (and beyond) You might’ve seen us popping up in unexpected places lately… “Go from Mean Time to Nice Time.” “Have a Grafantastic day.” It’s not just a campaign — it’s a reflection of how we build, how we think, and how we show up for each other and our users. At Grafana Labs , we’re a globally distributed team pushing the boundaries of observability, visualization, and now AI — all while staying deeply committed to open source, flexibility, and real-world usefulness. And the best part? We’re growing. Fast. ✨ Fully remote, globally ✨ Roles across engineering, product, sales, GTM, and more ✨ A culture that values autonomy, impact, and curiosity ✨ The chance to help shape the future of observability and AI If these billboards made you smile, imagine what it’s like to work here. Apr 2026I had a great time at GrafanaCON in Barcelona last week, where I talked about operating Grafana at scale together with Stephanie Hingtgen . It was a bittersweet ending to my ~four-year-long run working on the Grafana Backend - I am now moving to our newly formed AI department, where I’ll be spending _a lot_ of time hiring over the next few months. If you are interested or know anyone who would be a great fit, ping me! Some of the product highlights under the team's scope: - Grafana Assistant: the actually useful AI assistant that helps you do everything in Grafana; it works everywhere - even in OSS! - Investigations: a swarm of agents that autonomously figure out what went wrong - Grafana Cloud CLI (GCX): CLI covering the entire surface of Grafana Cloud/OSS APIs; plays great with Claude Code/Codex/Cursor and the Assistant - The new AI Observability product: helps you build useful agents and then lets you monitor, eval and improve how they behave - O11y Bench: compare agents' performance across a range of observability/SRE tasks Our pace of development and innovation is RAPID - the AI Observability product went from being the winning hackathon project to public preview in 6 weeks. We are at the cutting edge here; we are experimenting with autonomous (but safe) SREs, an agentic platform, improving agentic dev experience with o11y insights, fine-tuned LLMs for specific tasks, and more. We are looking for highly ambitious engineers who have a great sense of ownership, are all-in on agentic development, and have previously built and operated systems at scale. We are all full-stack and love initiative- we would love to talk with you _especially_ if you built something out in the open! Last but not least.. killer team - come and work with Mat Ryer Cyril TOVENA Ivana Huckova Sven Großmann 👋 Yasir E. Ben Sully Maurice Rochau Rob Whelan Ksenia Yadav Dmitry Filimonov and many others! we have lots of talented people at Grafana Labs We are remote-first (and remote-only), but we are currently focused on hiring only in US and Canada to even out the coverage across timezones. I’d appreciate reposts/likes/comments - all to help someone find their dream role :)
