Companies are replacing humans with AI to “cut costs.” But do the numbers actually add up? Let’s talk about what nobody puts in the press release — The REAL cost of AI: → GPU servers & cloud infrastructure — ₹Crores per year → AI model licensing (OpenAI, Google, etc.) — $20K–$500K/year → Data engineers & AI maintenance teams — still humans, still expensive → Cybersecurity for AI systems — massive & growing → Retraining & implementation — months of productivity loss → Hallucination errors & legal liability — unpredictable cost A mid-level employee costs ₹8–15 LPA. An enterprise AI system? Easily ₹50L–₹5Cr per year when you add it all up. So who actually wins from this “cost-cutting”? Cloud companies. AI vendors. Consultants. Not the business. Not the employees. And here’s the bigger paradox — If you lay off your customers… who buys your product? A factory worker who loses his job doesn’t buy a car. A software engineer laid off doesn’t renew that SaaS subscription. The next 25 years will look like this if we don’t course-correct: → AI costs spiral beyond savings → Consumer spending collapses → Governments scramble with UBI → Only the top 1% of companies survive → Social & economic instability grows AI should be a tool that empowers humans — not a shortcut that hollows out the economy. The smartest companies of the next decade won’t be the ones who replaced the most people. They’ll be the ones who figured out how to use AI with people — at a cost that actually makes sense. 💬 Is your company calculating the full cost of AI — or just the salary savings? #AI #FutureOfWork #AIStrategy #Automation #Jobs #TechEconomy #Leadership
May 2026May God give peace to the dead and affected in Vedanta Sakti incident. And may no such incident happen ever again. Investigations in such incidents are almost always shambolic and insincere. NTPC Unchahar blast killed 32 (or 38) people. Action taken: 1. GM (O&M), please note O&M, was compulsorily retired. That's all. Within two months, he got work from EESL, a govt. of India agency. 2. No FIR or action on ED or CMD of NTPC, Secretary (Power), Minister of Power or Prime Minister. https://lnkd.in/g3YJjwmC When you are an IAS officer or a government agency or an American MNC then the Law of the land is very kind to you. But, if you are troubling the Mighty in the Supreme Court then the same Law shows its Might to you. And that erodes the confidence of people in their motherland.
Apr 2026There is a popular anecdote that can be quoted on the present price rise situation of Indian solar pv manufacturing industry... "A bird's nest that is built on a tent won't last long". In my over four decades of solar industry experience, I have had warned, many times, that India had neglected, for long, to create raw materials resources ((silicon, silver, glasses, EVA, etc) within India to manufacture solar modules. I had also mentioned that Indian developers and EPC players were "ordering for solar modules from China (despite Indian mfg companies available to supply, albeit pricey and less efficient modules) just as Indians now are habituated to "order food" on Swiggies and Zomatoes! As a result, today, both PV manufacturering facilities and Indian home kitchens have almost reached a dormant stage; with lack of necessary "ingredients" at respective "kitchens"! Worst: with China windows, doors and gates 'closed', for now, Indian solar manufacturers have become like 'fishes out of water" (watch for a separate article on this). * I was trying to finalise a big order for solar module supplies for one of the developers. Two weeks back, I had got a price of Rs 12.75/Wp (TOPCon modules) with a strict rider that this price is not valid after 13th Jan, which will be above Rs 13/Wp. When I contacted the manufacturer on 16th Jan, the price had become Rs 13.8/Wp --mind you -- with just two days validity, and with a gentle "warning" that if I delay further to book the order now with 100% advance, the prices will be Rs 14.50/Wp, and with the situation not going to improve until May '25! * My dear solar industry colleagues, those who have not yet read this forwarded news, can now do so! 25% increase on module price due to input material costs increase! This is about non-DCR modules; What about DCR modules? Your guess is as good as mine. Jan 2026For decades, solar energy has been hailed as one of the most promising answers to the climate crisis. But while its ability to produce clean power is well known, new research from China reveals that large solar farms can do far more than generate electricity—they can actually transform entire ecosystems. A groundbreaking study in the Talatan Desert shows that solar panels don’t just capture sunlight. They change soil composition, promote vegetation, and even alter the local climate. The results could revolutionize how we think about the intersection of renewable energy and the natural world. * This positive news gives rise to a co sidered action to avoide using fertile lands for solar power plants. Also, as I have observed, many solar plant owners, as part of their plant O&M spray chemicals to "kill" the stubborn grassess that rise above solar panels, to avoid shadowing. We should remember that these chemicals would permanently make the land beneath the solar panels permanently infertile. One hand, we are happy that the solar plants are turniing the lifeless soil of desert to living soil and help rebuild ecosystem and improve biodiversity, on the other we should not turn the already thriving land a desert. https://lnkd.in/gSUcg-jn
