Who Needs to Pay for Claude When Customer Chatbots Are Already Leaking Code? Companies out here budgeting for premium AI tools… Meanwhile their customer support chatbot is casually answering coding questions like it’s on Stack Overflow. “Hi, I can’t log into my account.” “Sure—but also, here’s how authentication works in our backend system.” 😅 This is a classic case of “information leakage”, where a chatbot goes from helping customers to… mentoring junior developers on the side. Don’t get me wrong, AI is powerful. But when your support bot can: -Explain implementation logic -Answer programming questions -Hint at internal system behavior …you might not need Claude. You already deployed one. For free. To the public. At that point, it’s less “customer support” and more: “Ask Me Anything (Including Things You Shouldn’t Know)” Jokes aside, this comes down to: -Over-permissive design -Missing guardrails -And skipping the “what could go wrong?” phase As we rush to adopt AI, maybe the real question is: Are we securing what we’ve already built? Because sometimes the biggest AI risk isn’t what you don’t have, it’s what you accidentally shipped to production.
