Gymshark is a good example uh because they usually use creators, athletes, campaigns to basically engage with a community and then at the same time increasing their sales.

May 2026Just over a week ago we completed the length of Spain, running from the most Northern to the most Southern point in 6 days covering 1,400km. Each of the 7 runners took on a Marathon a day each, running through the night on minimal sleep raising an incredible £40,000 in aid of 3 charities. I managed to join my brother & fiancé for a 10k each day through some beautiful Spanish towns, whilst keeping them all fed, rested & overseeing the logistics driving the support car & RV to ensure we got to the 121 check-points. The memories & bond we all made living in an confined RV with 4 beds was unforgettable, which I captured through imagery & film as a small way to remember the highs, lows & laughs from throughout the week for causes so close to us all. A big thank you to Gymshark for the support & Puresport for keeping us hydrated throughout the week. If anyone would like to find out more, our donations page is still live through the link below: https://lnkd.in/ebx-yZ5r
May 2026There’s no single moment that changes everything. It’s the accumulation of small wins...day after day. In the early days of Gymshark, I kept waiting for a breakthrough moment. Something that would change everything overnight. It never came. Instead, it was small wins. A better product. A faster dispatch time. A returning customer. A lesson learned. Individually, they didn’t feel like much. But together, they built momentum. And momentum is what changes everything. People chase big moments but it’s the consistency behind the scenes that really matters. Keep stacking the small wins. Because over time, they become something much bigger than you expected.
Apr 2026Last week, Gymshark announced the opening of its first ever gym in Miami. "When is Gymshark opening a gym?" is the question Ben has been asked for 13 years. The brand name alone made it feel inevitable. And yet for over a decade, gyms sat firmly on the NOT-to-do list. What you say "NO" to matters more than what you say "yes" to. Especially as you scale. Shiny penny syndrome is real. You break through the early ceiling, proving product-market fit. And suddenly it feels like everything you touch turns to gold. Every opportunity looks like the next big thing. New markets. New categories. New partnerships. New channels. But the stakes have changed. Scaling makes every "yes" more expensive. Stock orders are bigger. Infrastructure hasn't always caught up. And the opportunity cost of distraction (this is big one!) grows exponentially. Sir Richard Harpin , who built HomeServe from £50,000 into a £4.1bn exit, pushes this "NOT-to-do list" principle. The discipline of writing down what you're consciously choosing not to pursue. I think he's bang on. But here's the nuance most people miss: the NOT-to-do list doesn't need to be permanent. It's about timing. Doing the Miami gym 5 years ago could have been a huge mistake. The brand authority wasn't quite there. The infrastructure wasn't there. The risk of diluting focus when the core business still had so much runway was too high. Today is different. A laser focussed message "WE DO GYM". Physical retail proof points across London, Manchester, Amsterdam, Dubai and New York. LIFT events drawing 20,000+ in Miami alone. The foundations are built. Now the conviction is there. And when that moment arrives, you move. The best founders I've worked with aren't the ones chasing every opportunity. They're the ones who've figured out what to ignore and, crucially, when to stop ignoring it. What's sitting on your NOT-to-do list right now that might be ready to move?
Apr 2026Gymshark , what a journey! 🚀🚀 I’ve made the decision to move on to my next chapter. Over the past 3 years, I’ve had the privilege of working across three distinct channels, Retail, Off-Price, and Wholesale & Franchise. Contributing to one of the most exciting phases of Gymshark’s international growth. From launching the brand’s first premium outlet store, to building a wholesale and franchise operating model across Europe, North America & The UAE, driving revenue and channel growth alongside my team! It’s been a period I’m genuinely so proud of. What I’ll take away most is the experience of operating at pace, at scale, and across complex global markets, building the infrastructure that lets ambitious businesses grow rapidly. The worst part of moving away from a buisiness is leaving a team of genuinely incredible people behind. Im greatful for my entire team in Wholesale & Franchise, Adam Rogers & Christopher Yip thank you for all your hard work. Anita Sohal & Cara Hornby thank you for being incredible coleagues and friends, you made my days all that much better! A big shout out to all of the incredible retail team who made every day a pleasure. A big shout out to Henry Fogden & Sarah Rule for taking a gamble on me back in 2023! We’ve achieved great things. We went further, Together. 4 x Retail Stores 5 Global Wholesale & Franchise partners … and growing The biggest LIFT event EVER!!! There are so many more people to name here but the post would never end. If I was lucky enough to work with you then thank you for everything, I really value every connection made. I wish Gymshark the best of success in it’s next phase of growth. I’ll be watching from the sidelines cheering you all on! Bailey 🫶🏼
Apr 2026Can AI write your business plan? Honest answer? Probably, yes. I remember drafting our wholesale and franchise expansion plans at Gymshark and independently running the brief through ChatGPT to sense check my output. It was probably 80% there. A structured plan delivered in seconds that had taken me days. Given how fast AI has moved since, I'd bet it's closer to 95% now. So why would you ever pay someone to do this? Because a business plan isn't a document. It's a conviction tool. AI can build the framework. It can model the scenarios. It can even write a pretty compelling narrative. What it can't do is look your leadership team in the eye and convince them to follow you into something uncomfortable. It's never sat in the room when a founder pushes back on the sequencing. It's never navigated the politics of prioritising one growth lever over another. It's never had to defend a plan when the first quarter's numbers don't land where the model said they would. The plan is the easy part. The hard part is getting hundreds of people to believe in it enough to change how they work. Will AI replace strategy roles? Parts of them, absolutely. The analysis, the modelling, the research - AI is already better and faster at that than most humans. But there will always be a need for someone to stand in front of a room and make people believe. Someone with real, lived experience that teams buy into. Without that, plans stay in decks and chats. Because it's people that build brands, not documents.
