Hawk buying intent

It was great to welcome the ACAMS Assembly back to Frankfurt this week. The Hawk team got to spend extended time with many customers, as well as meeting with other friends, old and new. Two highlights of the event for me: The panel on "Using AI Agents to Fight Fraud & Money Laundering" featuring Dr Felix Berkhahn , our Chief Data Scientist here at Hawk, was excellent. Felix did a spectacular job - as he always does - at succinctly summarizing complex ideas. He is also deeply passionate about what Agentic AI can do for financial crime investigations, and that passion was clear to see. A few points that Felix raised are worth repeating here: 💡While compliance efficiency is definitely a huge benefit of Agentic AI, it's also very much about effectiveness. Agents can detect things that humans have overlooked because agents can cover so much more information in the same timeframe. 💡Agentic can be used for many other use cases, including training traditional AI models, highlighting compliance gaps, and tuning systems. It's not good for transaction monitoring detection - it's too expensive. Agentic AI and traditional AI must work together. 💡Testing agents requires blind tests and sample tests that compare the agent with past or current human decisions. It's important to continuously document and learn from agent mistakes, retuning the system over time. 💡Strategies for combating hallucination include providing information so the system has context and doesn't need to invent it, plus having guardrails in place, such as workflow steps to ensure a path is followed. His fellow panelists also provided really useful insights - Usman Iftikhar from ING and Elena Mokretsova from Santander . It was full of great conversation - we ran much later than expected, which is always a good sign.
