LinkedIn company profileDuring a trip to Thailand, Pedro and Lidia, the founders of Holafly, experienced the frustration of not having an internet connection. Inspired by their own experiences, they came up with a simple but brilliant idea: why not allow travellers to buy data plans for any destination from their home country? I wouldn’t consider myself a digital nomad, but I’ve been travelling constantly for work for about five years now. And I can’t fully complain. Otherwise, I probably wouldn’t have had the chance to visit places like Colombia, Costa Rica, Mexico, Panama, Thailand, and many more. But there’s another side to travelling constantly that we don’t talk about as much. For me, one of the biggest challenges has been isolation. Being away from your family and friends for long periods of time, especially when you’re already an introvert, is not always the best combination 😅. We tend to romanticize the digital nomad lifestyle: working with an ocean view, discovering a new city every few weeks, having the freedom to work from anywhere. And there’s a lot to love about it. But as this way of living becomes more common, I think we also need to have a more honest conversation about what constant movement can do to our routines and wellbeing: Isolation, stress, anxiety, disrupted sleep, changes in eating and exercise habits, and even weight gain can all be part of the experience. At Holafly, we’re proud to be travelers helping travelers, so we spend a lot of time thinking about how people experience travel and what it means to live a more mobile life. That’s why we decided to look into the “invisible tax” of constant travel, from disrupted biological clocks and sleep patterns to the difficulty of maintaining healthy routines and relationships. We gathered the research and findings in our latest Inside Holafly article which you can find in the comments 👇 And since this is something I’m still figuring out myself: what routines or habits help you keep some structure in your life when you’re travelling frequently? I’m genuinely in need of recommendations 😅 #DigitalNomads #RemoteWork #FutureOfWork #Travel #Holafly
Sep 20262 years and 7 months at Holafly . Time flies. It’s been 31 months since I joined, and the company is completely different now. We went from being a “small” group to a much larger team, but the most important change for me has been our evolution in how we work. Seeing our decision-making process become data-driven is what I’m most proud of. We are constantly changing and improving every day and we are definitely on the right path. Through all this growth, our focus hasn't changed: we are always working for the peace of mind of our customers. I’m very proud to be part of this company and excited for what is coming next. Huge thanks to everyone who has been part of this journey with me so far and for the trust in what we are building. May 2026This week Holafly launched Always On: 1GB monthly backup for when you need it the most. - I have been there, where there were last-minute changes, my flight was cancelled and I did not have Wi-Fi. - That extra 1GB would have helped me in the past and now it will help many travelers going forwards. Now, even when your plan or trip ends, you’ll keep getting 1GB every month Always On activates automatically, so you have backup data exactly when you need it. I am proud to have been part of the journey! Learn more at Holafly: https://lnkd.in/e6sm7yQV #HolaflyAlwaysOn
May 2026I lived in Medellín for two years, and a part of me never really left. I fell in love with its culture, so close to my own, its food, its energy, and especially its people. It made me feel at home from the very beginning. It’s no surprise Medellín has become a global hub for talent, remote work, and extraordinary growth. It also played a huge role in the growth of Holafly and our team. But loving a place also means being willing to see the parts that are harder to face. Beyond the “traveler’s paradise” narrative, there’s a darker reality growing alongside Colombia’s tourism boom: 💔 Commercial sexual exploitation cases in Bogotá nearly doubled in 2024. 💔 Victims are getting younger, some as young as 10 years old. 💔 Fewer than 5% of foreign offenders are prosecuted in their home countries. Tourism contributes more to Colombia’s GDP than coffee exports today. That growth brings opportunity, but it also brings responsibility. As travelers, digital nomads, remote workers, and global companies, we can’t celebrate the benefits of a place while ignoring the impact left on local communities. I love Colombia deeply ❤️ And precisely because of that, I believe “peace of mind” for travelers should never come at the expense of safety and dignity for the people who call it home. The team at Holafly recently dove deep into this uncomfortable truth. I highly recommend the read 👉 https://lnkd.in/eF-WvcQu
May 2026As Director of Data at Holafly, I know that connectivity isn't just about usage patterns, it’s about peace of mind. Behind every "out of data" notification is a traveler who might be facing a missed connection, a late-night arrival or a stressful situation. That’s why we launched Always On: 1GB of monthly backup data worlwide. At no extra cost. Forever. It’s safety net designed for when travel goes off-script. Whether it’s an unexpected layover or an urgent situation, we’ve ensured that staying connected is one less thing to worry about. Because at Holafly, our mission isn't just to provide a service, it's to make sure you get home safely. 🏠🤝 #Holafly #TravelTech #DataStrategy #AlwaysOn #Connectivity
May 2026Ever wondered who’s behind the creators you see everywhere when planning your trips? 👀 At Holafly , we’re rethinking how people stay connected when they travel and bringing peace of mind to millions of travellers around the world. My colleague Maria Pelaez is looking for someone to join her team on a maternity leave cover. Not just because I’m a proud #holaflyer , but it’s a great opportunity to be part of a global and fast-growing team!!!!! 🚀 🚀 🚀 👇 https://lnkd.in/edfDmcFT
Apr 2026𝗜 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗹𝘆 𝗵𝗶𝘁 5 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝗮𝘁 Holafly (which probably deserves a post on its own), and if there’s one thing I’ve learned here it’s to 𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲. It might sound cliché, but after going through four different roles, I can confidently say I wouldn’t be where I am today if I wouldn’t have said yes to new projects and opportunities out of fear of not being ready. This year is no exception. Holafly is entering a new phase that is more demanding, more ambitious, and, in many ways, more exciting. It’s pushing us to think more deeply about where we want to be in the next few years, while also bringing in new talent to help us get there. In this context, I met with the Executive Committee in Dublin a month ago, where we aligned on our strategy for the next three years and defined priorities across teams. Beyond the strategy itself, what stood out the most was 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲: reconnecting with colleagues who genuinely love what they do, and seeing new team members like Shravan Kochhar, Chris Hills , Jon Ross , Eileen Gregory, Carlos Heredero Díez bring fresh perspectives that push all of us to raise the bar. Because change is not just about setting a direction, it’s also about who you build with along the way. And in the middle of moving forward, it’s just as important to recognize those who helped build the foundations. I’d like to give a special mention to Pablo Gómez Fernandez-Quintanilla who, although no longer at Holafly, played a key role in the company’s growth from its early days and helped shape where we are today. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝗻𝗼𝘄? finding the right balance between long-term vision, which gives you a clear direction, and short-term execution, which forces you to prioritize what truly matters today. It’s not always easy, we are not 100% ready but we accept the challenge. 2026 is coming in strong with new projects, new people and, of course, even more change ahead 🚀.
Apr 2026It’s this time of the year when I celebrate my first year at Holafly (time really flies), and I won’t lie, it’s been an intense one. From defining the PR & Events strategy from scratch, to building the team and starting to see things come to life, it’s been a journey I’m proud of. We achieved our 2025 objectives, delivered a strong Q1, and we’re already working on what’s coming next for Q2 and beyond. A special thank you to Daniela Prado for the trust and for giving me the opportunity to work in such a special team!! 🫰🫰 Still, there’s a lot to build. We’re continuing to strengthen our brand awareness across channels, PR and events, with Kelsey now fully onboard in the area, Constanza joining soon, and new team members we’re currently looking for to keep pushing us forward. But beyond the milestones, the best part has been working with such an incredible group of people every day. Having a team you genuinely enjoy working with makes all the difference: Michael, Maria Pelaez , Natalia Giraldo , Sergio Tapia , Ramón , Daniela Prado , Rocío Martín , Pia Paterno, Cayetano Iváñez , Jose Galeras , Kelsey, Mariana , Daniela and so many others across the company 💞 Last month we were in Dublin, and now we’re all together in Madrid, defining the next steps for the brand this year. 2026 is already proving to be both challenging and exciting, with many projects ahead. I’m excited about what’s to come and everything we’ll continue building together. Looking back at this past year, I also want to recognize Pablo Gómez , who recently stepped away from Holafly , for the role he has played as a visible leader and a key face of the brand at many events. It has been a real pleasure learning from him along the way!!!! And of course, I couldn’t miss a little photo recap of my first year (hopefully the first of many!) at Holafly .
Apr 2026We’ve integrated several AI workflows into our Flutter app, but my absolute favorite is our new /localize skill paired with Crowdin . Here is how 👇 1️⃣ Context-Aware Generation: Design and Content teams start in Figma. Devs build the UI and hardcode the strings, then the magic comes... We run our custom skill `/localize`. It analyzes the full screen’s context and automatically generates the keys, descriptions, and placeholders directly into our .arb format. 2️⃣ The GitHub Handshake: Once the PR is approved, a GitHub Action pushes those new keys straight to Crowdin. 3️⃣ AI + Translation Memory: Crowdin triggers a workflow using Translation Memory + AI to instantly translate strings into the 18+ languages we support. After, those are directly push into our app. 4️⃣ Human-in-the-loop: While AI does the heavy lifting, our professional translators start proofreading for that perfect "Holafly" tone. 5️⃣ The Loop Closes: Crowdin triggers a final workflow to pull the verified strings back into the repo, building a nightly version of the app automatically. No more manual copying. No more missing context. Just a seamless flow from a design idea to a localized nightly build. The result? Our devs focus on features, our translators focus on quality, and our users get a local experience in record time. What's your favorite workflow? #Flutter #AI #Claude #Crowdin #Localization #MobileDev #Holafly #Efficiency
