The digital advertising ecosystem is facing significant scrutiny, and opacity is no longer acceptable—transparency has become the key driver of trust, efficiency, and sustainability. In my latest article for #IAB , titled "The Supply Chain is Under Scrutiny: Transparency is Critical to its Evolution," I explore the necessity of moving beyond complex workarounds and assessing the value of ad tech middlemen. May 2026Incredible time at Artist and the Machine yesterday. For the uninitiated: it's a curated, summit convening 400 leaders across brands, agencies, studios, research labs, and artists working at the intersection of AI and creativity. It's the room where the conversation moves past efficiency narratives into what AI actually means for authorship, craft, and culture. Three things stuck out: 1️⃣ The cost of making things is collapsing to zero. Doug Shapiro made the case that AI is doing to media what digitization did 50 years ago, but FASTER. When anyone can make anything, the winners won't be the ones doing the same thing cheaper. They'll be the ones using AI to create experiences that couldn't exist before: interactive, multimodal, alive. 2️⃣ We're about to live among characters, not tools. A talk on physical AI design reframed how I think about robots and agents. They're not buttons and sliders anymore; they're social beings with personality, movement, and intent. How they signal what they're about to do becomes as important as what they do. 3️⃣ AI is expanding what's humanly possible. A presenter showed how she's working with disabled models to reimagine mobility with wheelchairs that let people stand, exoskeletons, microgravity simulations. "We shape the tools and the tools shape us." The most moving reminder that this technology isn't just about productivity. It's about possibility. That's incredible. I worked with older folks for a while and I know someone who lost a leg from a motorcycle accident and medical use cases of AI are the ones that seem most exciting to me. Bonus: Vibe coding with Replit made me realize how incredibly easy it is all getting from my earlier experiences with Claude Code. As Black Rob said, Like whoa. Congrats to Dani Van de Sande and Natalie Monbiot for putting together something truly wonderful. ⭐️ #ai #creativity
May 2026For all my marketing friends trying to figure out how to pull rank in any AI platform by creating more content, this is an interesting read. About 7 days most of the time, for new content to appear in citations. #ai #visibility #marketing
May 2026Scaling in-store media in convenience and value stores is a massive opportunity but also has its own set of challenges. I’ll be digging into that during the opening keynote on Day 2 of CSP’s Retail Media Network Forum. I'll share why standards are the unlock for making in-store media actually work at scale, especially when: • Measurement is inconsistent • Expectations are misaligned • And too much of the conversation is still stuck in “test and learn” If we want in-store to move from experimentation ▶️ investment, we need a more consistent foundation. More importantly, we need standards that reflect the realities of the physical environment, not just a copy/paste of digital thinking. If you’ll be there, let's connect! Apr 2026Project Eidos Update Since our launch in February, IAB's Measurement Advisory Committee has been meeting bi-weekly to address a significant challenge in our industry: the absence of a common language for campaign data. Our first major output, Campaign Taxonomy 1.0, is almost ready for public review. This initiative goes beyond naming conventions; it aims to establish the structural foundation necessary for effective cross-channel measurement. Here’s what to look forward to: - Current status of the taxonomy framework. - Expectations for the public comment period in May. - Our approach to outcomes measurement reporting.
