May 2026"A great mission requires a great team to carry it out. It is inspiring to see the Oncia Community team on the ground in Gran Canaria, working side-by-side with local oncologists and hospital leadership. Thank you to Marta Lloret Saez-Bravo and the team at Doctor Negrín for such a warm and productive welcome. Together, we are bridging the gap between clinical excellence and the human experience of cancer care."

May 2026Wow. What an event. 👏 ISOP 2026 truly raised the bar. An incredible lineup of speakers, outstanding quality of contributions, honest discussions, and a shared passion for advancing proton therapy responsibly and meaningfully. A very special thank you to Dr. Steven Frank for being such an exceptional Chair, to MD Anderson Cancer Center for being a fantastic host, and to TMC3 - simply the best venue I have ever seen for a meeting like this. Beyond the sessions themselves, the networking and collaboration opportunities over nearly two full days were truly remarkable. I could not be more proud of IBA Proton Therapy for continuing to lead the way in bringing high-quality proton therapy to more patients - without cutting corners. And of course, a heartfelt thank you to all of our partner companies/sponsors who helped make this outstanding event possible. See you next year in Florida indeed! ☀️
May 2026On Wednesday, we celebrated the remarkable achievements of 18 first-year students who have excelled academically at Northern Kentucky University . The ceremony brought together students, their friends, families, and dedicated colleagues at NKU for a joyful gathering. We also had the honor of recognizing standout student leader Lauren Schraer for her exceptional dedication to student success. In addition, we proudly acknowledged three outstanding NKU colleagues whose efforts have profoundly impacted first-year students' experiences on campus. First, we highlight Ed Thornton , whose exceptional advising and warm, uplifting spirit consistently brighten everyone's day; no wonder so many students nominated him. Next, we honor Rusty Mardis, Ed.D. , whose impressive achievements both inside and outside the classroom as a UNV 101 faculty member truly make a difference. Interacting with Rusty is always a joyful and caring experience, making him the perfect choice for this award. Finally, we celebrate our incredible partner, Amanda Kilmer , whose dedicated wellness initiatives and unwavering commitment empower our students daily. Amanda's passion and steadfast support inspire us all and play a vital role in our community. Congratulations to everyone who received an award! You truly deserve this recognition and so much more! I want to thank everyone who supported this effort: the amazing First-Year Student Success Hub Team, the nominator, the selection committee, and my fellow Student Success colleagues. Lastly, I would like to thank all the NKU leadership for joining us in celebration: Diana McGill , Abdou Ndoye , Brandon Thompson, Ed.D. , Valerie Gray Hardcastle , Ryan Padgett, Hassan R. HassabElnaby , Gannon Tagher , Bethany Bowling , Brianna Marshall , Dr. Ginni Fair , and Kevin Kirby . Thank you for all you do for NKU!
Apr 2026Last night was truly special at Northern Kentucky University as we inducted a fantastic new cohort of Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society scholars! Celebrating the chapter’s 15th anniversary made the evening even more memorable. These talented students now join a proud community of over 1,300 alumni and 250 active members who have been inducted into NKU chapter over the years. This is one of my favorite events to participate in, partly because it is organized by our amazing Executive Board, which consists of students in leadership roles within the honor society chapter at NKU. Mitchell Wolking and Kyah Smith did a phenomenal job as always. We welcomed 55 new scholars. Installed a new executive board, with Jacob Leach as President, Cameree Santos as Vice President, Kyah Smith as Secretary, and Paige Grunder as the Media and PR Ambassador. We celebrated the students' academic milestones surrounded by friends, family, and mentors. Thank you to all who attended and supported! Thank you, Dr. Abdullah Al Bahrani , for supporting your students and being a true leader at NKU! It was an unforgettable evening filled with pride and excitement! I can't wait to see where these talented students will go, both at NKU and beyond.
