LinkedInTotal Addressable Market

For 25 years, a single rule quietly kept millions of retail traders on the sidelines of the US stock market. On April 14, 2026, the SEC killed it. 🎯 💡 PATTERN DAY TRADING (PDT) Introduced in 2001 by FINRA — right after the dot-com bubble burst and wiped out thousands of retail investors who had been day trading on leverage. The logic was simple: if you're going to trade in and out of stocks multiple times a day, you better have enough capital to absorb the losses. So regulators drew a line: Want to execute 4 or more day trades within 5 business days in a margin account? Maintain a minimum of $25,000 in your account — always. On paper, it sounds protective. In practice, it was a wealth test disguised as a safety rule. ✅ WHAT DID THE SEC JUST CHANGE? The SEC approved FINRA's proposal to completely eliminate the PDT framework and replace it with a modern intraday margin standard, effective June 4, 2026! What replaces it? A dynamic, real-time system where your buying power is calculated based on your actual open positions and real market exposure — not an arbitrary dollar threshold from 2001. 💵 THERE IS STILL A CATCH THOUGH - The $2000 minimum! The $2,000 figure is NOT a replacement for the $25,000 PDT threshold. It's a pre-existing baseline FINRA requirement to open ANY margin account — it was always there, just overshadowed. Simply put, retail users having margin accounts can now freely day trade by maintaining equity of min $2000! The TAM (total addressable market) for active day trading just expanded dramatically. The PDT rule was a relic of the dot-com era — designed for a world of high commissions, slow data, and no real-time risk tools. The world changed. The rule finally caught up. #UsStockInvesting #GlobalInvesting #INDmoney

2 Important laws that govern your global investments, you likely haven't heard of. Post 9 of Decoding US Stock Investments for India! 👉 FEMA — Foreign Exchange Management Act Think of it as India's rulebook for any money that crosses the border. Passed in 1999, it replaced the older FERA — a law so strict that violations were treated as criminal offences. FEMA shifted the approach: from "controlling" foreign exchange to "managing" it. In simple terms: FEMA decides what you can and cannot do with money going in or out of India. Violations aren't just a slap on the wrist. Penalties can go up to 3x the amount involved. 👉 LRS — Liberalized Remittance Scheme LRS is the RBI's framework that gives every Indian resident a $250,000 annual allowance to send money abroad — no RBI approval needed. You can use it for: → Investing in foreign stocks or ETFs → Buying property abroad → Education or medical expenses overseas → Gifting money to family abroad LRS operates within FEMA. Think of FEMA as the constitution, and LRS as one of its amendments. 💡 Why should you care? Global investing is becoming mainstream for young Indians. But most people discover these rules only after they've already made a move. Knowing your $250K annual limit, understanding TCS, and keeping FEMA in mind isn't just compliance hygiene — it's smart money management. Getting started with Global investing? The bar for what a 'good' wealth platform looks like is shifting faster than most people realise. It's no longer about access to products or even returns — it's about anticipation. Can the platform flag a risk before you ask? Surface an opportunity before you notice it? That shift from reactive to proactive is where the real differentiation is happening. Two trends are driving this: AI becoming embedded in every layer of wealth management, and global diversification moving from 'nice to have' to a core portfolio principle. #Hubbis feature on #INDmoney — "Investors will increasingly expect platforms to anticipate needs, flag risks and surface opportunities automatically. That level of intelligence will become the baseline, not the differentiator." Worth a read if you're thinking about where wealth tech is headed. We received a job application via email from a final yr student of IIT Dharwad. This email caught my attention. In the subject line the candidate mentioned INDmoney’s NRI product (something that I am quite keen on building out further.) But reading the email further into the copy, I was both surprised & amused. The candidate writes : “What stood out to me is that INDmoney isn’t just another travel booking platform. You’ve built a business that prioritizes sustainable growth, operational efficiency, and a seamless user experience across flights, hotels, and holiday packages.” I said : #WTF Now the icing over the cake. -> He mentioned in the same email that he was “YOLOing it.” Turns out… he really did. And then he followed up again on April 14th, topping up the same email!!!!! I thought? INDmoney… a travel booking platform? How does a final yr IIT student make this botched up pitch? And that too follows up again with the same pitch? Following are the options that I thought of : Option 1 : AI hallucination? [On any LLM, if you simply ask : What is INDmoney - it never ever calls it a travel app. Hence quite unlikely but may be this guy used some new language model] Option 2 : The IIT student is hallucinating? Option 3 : Both AI and the student are hallucinating. Option 4 : Cut, copy, paste went wrong? And went wrong again and again? Option 5 : World is going crazy. Do comment with your thoughts and options on where things are headed. #aiHallucination p.s This post is not to call out or ridicule an individual or an institution. If anything, this post is a reflection of how easily AI can amplify small lapses in attention if not used mindfully.

In most Indian families, money is understood, not discussed. You know your father has investments. Your mother has gold saved somewhere. There are FDs “for safety.” But no one really knows: How much does my family have? So when real decisions come up, everyone is working with assumptions. That’s why we built Family Net Worth on INDmoney. So your family is clear about their finances. Curious to know what your family's net worth is? Track it on INDmoney. #financialawareness #networth #familynetworth Aman Gupta Shruti Kumari Darisa Manish Rushikesh Pedgaonkar Anshuman Misra Shivanshu Srivastava Vishal Jha Omeshwari Dharpure Ritwik Roy Chetan Sahu
