Great to have Moving Mountains join us at St Mary’s, with Darren Chapman showcasing a brilliant range of plant-based options for people to experience. From chicken-style alternatives to plant-based burgers and superfood options, there was plenty to spark people’s interest and curiosity. My personal favourite was the fish finger alternative. Can anyone guess the secret ingredient? Also great to catch up with Robert Elliott again and thanks also to Kerrey Healey and Joanne Fitzgerald supporting the session. #TeamNHFT #NHFT #PlantBasedFood #SustainableCatering #HealthcareCatering
May 2026Playing with geogram+ from Tessael . I want robust and accurate boolean operations / CSG with meshes I also want them to run fast Why should I choose ? Tessael developed geogram+, an enhanced version of geogram. I have a lot of fun playing with it, in Polyscope, using the Python bindings (Tessael's "ALLOY" interop middleware).
May 2026Why is Gold Falling in a War and the Dollar Winning Instead? Conventional wisdom says: war breaks out → investors flee to gold. The US-Iran conflict has flipped the script. Gold just had its worst month in March since 2008. Here's why: 1. Gold already priced in the fear : Gold hit an all-time high of $5,600/oz in January 2026. By the time the war broke out, the trade was already crowded — investors didn't buy more, they booked profits. 2. The strong dollar is gold's ceiling : Gold is priced in dollars. A stronger dollar makes it more expensive for global buyers. 3. Higher yields : Gold pays zero interest. With oil prices surging and inflation fears returning, the Fed is expected to hold rates making Treasuries and dollar assets far more attractive. 4. ETF liquidations amplified the sell-off : Large outflows from gold ETFs billions of dollars leaving in a short period created selling pressure that overwhelmed safe-haven instincts in the short term. 5. US actually benefits from oil shock : The US is a net oil exporter. Rising oil prices from the Strait of Hormuz closure strengthen the US economy — and by extension, the dollar. The real story isn't that gold is broken. It appears that the dollar has become the world's first choice when fear takes over — and right now, it's earning that title.
Apr 2026Something that keeps coming up in client conversations: firms are making significant infrastructure and operating model decisions right now, largely without knowing what their peers are doing. There’s no consensus yet on what good looks like for public–private convergence. Everyone is figuring it out in real time. We asked Celent to look at this properly, where firms actually are, not where they say they are. The gap is more significant than most would admit. Next month I’m bringing a small group together in London to discuss the findings. Small room. Senior people. Off the record. If this is relevant to where you are right now, feel free to reach out directly or drop a note below. #PublicPrivateConvergence #BuySide #PrivateMarkets #AssetManagement
Apr 2026Everyone has a COVID story. Mine is professional. In early 2020 companies were sending entire workforces home overnight with zero visibility into what was actually happening on the other end. That gap is where the idea came from. Not in a boardroom. In conversations with managers who were leading teams remotely for the first time with no tools built for that reality. The insight was simple. Businesses needed visibility. But the word monitoring already made buyers uncomfortable before you finished the sentence. So the real question was never can we build this. It was can we bring this to market without it feeling like surveillance. That became the brief. I was part of the core team that took an employee monitoring solution from concept to launch during one of the most uncertain periods any of us had worked through. Compressed timelines. No in-person research. A category that needed careful handling from day one. My CTO and CEO at that time were in those conversations with me the whole time. Their experience gave direction, the brainstorms gave clarity, and somewhere in between we found a way to bring something genuinely useful to market. That launch taught me more about category positioning and buyer psychology than anything I had read before or since. Some lessons only come from being inside the problem. What is one product or idea you have seen come to life from a real gap in the market? #ProductMarketing #GTM #CategoryPositioning #B2BMarketing
Apr 2026Why Dear HR 😭🥹? The hiring process in some companies is becoming very frustrating for candidates. Recently, I applied to a well-known MNC. My interview was scheduled 7 times. I even cleared the first round and was called for the second round in person, but suddenly received an email that the interview was cancelled. 🙄🥹. It was very sad frustating for me. This is not just my experience. Many candidates complete interviews and even background verification ✅, yet still don’t receive the final offer or any clear update. Candidates invest time⏰, effort, and preparation🙇♀️. A more transparent and respectful hiring process would make a huge difference. #HiringProcess #Recruitment #JobSearch #CandidateExperience #hrteam
Apr 2026Spot on from Deepak - this is exactly where the conversation is heading. Everyone wants AI in the front office. Fewer have the data infrastructure to support it. What’s becoming clear is that data architecture is now a front-office concern, not just an operational one. The firms that crack the public/private data unification challenge will be the ones that fully realise GenAI’s potential.
