May 2026Singapore is a place that inspires - a city that lives and breathes maritime, technology and progress. This year’s Singapore Maritime Week (SMW) confirmed that once again. Collaboration and meaningful innovation are becoming the standard. One question from one of the panels stayed with me: “How are you going to enforce your tech if it’s not mandated by regulation?” Maybe it’s time to move beyond the “regulation and price” mindset. The real conversation should be about long-term ROI, future-proof solutions, and designing with people at the centre. That’s exactly where our session focused, and where the industry needs to go. A big thank you to our keynote speakers, representing two generations of seafarers, to our panelists for sharing practical, business-impact insights, to industry friends I had the pleasure of spending time with, and to Joyce B. , Justin Yi , Laurie Eve and my fantastic colleagues in Singapore who helped make it all happen. #SMW26

Apr 2026A few days ago, we celebrated the completion of a significant milestone, migrating our VMware environment to the AWS cloud. There’s a deep sense of fulfilment in being part of a journey that starts as an idea and a conversation, becomes a plan, and is finally delivered. This would not have been possible without strong project management, technical leadership, and clear sponsorship, nor without the dedication of the infrastructure and network teams and the commitment of the application owners who ensured seamless service for our customers internal and external throughout. It’s impossible to name everyone, but I want to acknowledge few whose leadership and energy brought the project together: Edwin Dijkstra for his vision and positivity, Alexis Michael for keeping us aligned, Angel Marinov from SoftwareOne for strong technical leadership and execution, Hector P. and the team for actually connecting us to the cloud; Pradip Pun for coordinating testing and troubleshooting, Zaki Haider for the systematic work that sets the foundation for long‑term scalability and performance, Lakshmi (Uk) for making sure we are ready for operations and of course Sanjeev Dembi for his clear and passionate sponsorship. A special thank you as well to Claire (Xiaoqin) Zou and Rebecca Dietrich who were instrumental in shaping our learning journey. While there is a real sense of completion, it quickly becomes clear that this is just the warm‑up!!! If we truly want to realise the benefits of the cloud—elasticity, scalability, and speed—we need to make sure we do not operate it as if it were on‑premise. The cloud has the potential to take us further and faster, but only if we “fly” it...Driving a plane will not get you very far 😎 but let's leave those conversations for tomorrow. Today is a moment for appreciation, reflection, and fullfilment. #Cloudjourney #Digitaltrasformation #SoftwareOne #AWS
Apr 2026Big thanks to Max Tatton-Brown who put on a brilliant Claude Code Curious event last night. The technology is ready. AI is not 'coming' - it's here. We saw people building real, functional tools in less than a fortnight. They are solving problems and winning right now because the barrier to execution has vanished. The gap isn't the AI, it's far more advanced than most people realise. The gap is the org chart, the process map, the governance... Companies still watching from the sidelines: take note. The curious are already building incredible things. Catching up later will be an expensive mistake. #ClaudeCurious #AIAdoption #AITransformation #ResponsibleAI
