Being a strong software engineer today is not about knowing one stack only. It is about understanding how systems connect. You may write Flutter code. But you still need to understand how the backend contract works. You may build APIs with .NET or Laravel. But you still need to understand how mobile apps consume those APIs. You may work on CI/CD. But you still need to understand how delivery, testing, and release quality affect the whole team. You may focus on frontend. But you still need to understand authentication, caching, performance, and error handling. The best engineers I worked with were not just “framework users.” They understood the full flow: User action → UI state → API request → authentication → backend validation → database operation → response contract → error handling → logging → release pipeline → production monitoring This is where real seniority starts. Not from using more tools. But from understanding the impact of your decisions across the whole system. Frameworks are important. But architecture thinking is what makes the difference. #SoftwareEngineering #SoftwareArchitecture #FullStackDevelopment #MobileDevelopment #BackendDevelopment #TechLeadership #CleanArchitecture #SystemDesign
May 2026Most engineers I know had the same reaction when they first heard “ESG reporting.” “That sounds like an accounting problem.” It’s not. ESG stands for Environmental, Social, and Governance. It’s how companies measure and report their real-world impact — carbon emissions, working conditions, supply chain risks. And increasingly, it’s becoming regulated. In Europe, thousands of companies are now legally required to report this data. Here’s where it gets interesting for engineers: The data is messy. The standards are complex. The tooling is immature. Most companies are still doing this in Excel. That’s the problem I’m working on with 180Pi — a platform that helps companies structure, calculate, and report ESG data properly. I didn’t come from a sustainability background. I came from building APIs and data pipelines. Turns out, that’s exactly the skillset this space needs.
May 2026A few months ago, I didn’t know much about ESG reporting, climate risk, or sustainable finance. Today, I’m leading the development of a platform at 180Pi focused on helping African companies better understand climate risks, produce structured sustainability reports, and access green finance opportunities. What interested me first wasn’t only the technical challenge. It was the startup journey itself. Building something from scratch that solves a real problem is very different from just shipping features. You start asking different questions. How do you collect reliable sustainability data? How do you verify its accuracy? How do you turn complex reporting requirements into something companies can actually use? How do you build technology that creates trust? As a developer, I’ve also discovered an entirely new domain through this experience. Before this, I underestimated how important climate risk and ESG reporting are becoming for businesses, investors, and financial institutions — especially across emerging markets. At 180Pi, I’m involved in the platform from concept to deployment, working across the full stack while learning how technology, sustainability, and finance increasingly intersect. Turns out climate data is much harder — and much more important — than I expected.
May 2026Many expense apps feel either too basic or too complicated. That’s one of the reasons I built Spendary. Spendary is designed to help users manage their money with a smoother experience through features like: · tracking expenses, income, and transfers · setting budgets · managing recurring payments · monitoring savings goals · switching between personal and business usage · viewing insights through dashboards One thing I focused on heavily is making the app feel practical for real everyday use, not just look good. Still improving it, but happy to share this step of the journey. Feel free to try it out, all features are free. Apr 2026Users kept reporting something was "off." No error. No trace. Nothing in the logs. We spent days looking at the system. Wrong move. The moment we switched to watching how people actually use the product tabs open, sessions overlapping, mid-flow refreshes it clicked. The bug was never in the code. It was in the assumption that users behave like the happy path in your tests. They don't. They multitask, they wander, they come back 10 minutes later. Made critical actions idempotent, removed state dependencies, added guards for parallel execution. Bug gone. Assumption updated. Write code for the user you have, not the user you imagined.
