AI is changing the top of the funnel faster than most revenue teams can inspect it. More outreach. More meetings. More engagement. But faster pipeline movement doesn’t automatically create better buyer decisions. In my newest article, I explore how The Messy Middle™ is now starting earlier in the sales cycle — and why many organizations are unknowingly creating AI-Accelerated Drift inside their pipeline. Because activity isn’t the same as decision clarity. And more leads don’t always create more revenue. May 2026A toddler tantrum… and a sales lesson. He quit after 3 minutes. “No, I can’t.” He wasn’t wrong because the the first time I rode a bike, I ended up in the ER with a broken arm 😅 But every day this week, we told him: Try again. Just a little longer. Then Saturday happened, he took off like Lightening McQueen. I was literally running to keep up. 😑 (Also… get ready—the toddler attitude makes an appearance in this video 😂 but he recovers) And it hit me— Childhood moments turn into adult lessons. They show up in sales. Because this is exactly how it works: At the start: • Sales is hard and awkward • Rejection feels personal and sucks • Progress feels slow So most people quit… right there. But the ones who win? They stay in it long enough for it to click. And when it does—everything speeds up. Confidence. Conversations. Results. The difference isn’t talent. It’s who keeps going when it feels too hard. The ones who keep pedaling win. Apr 2026Most pipelines don’t break at the beginning or the end. They break in the middle, when no one is clear on what the buyer is actually deciding. That’s why I wrote this week’s piece. It centers on one question that will immediately change how you look at your deals: “What decision is the buyer making next?” Inside, I introduce a simple framework to help you navigate the Deal Drift Zone. • Identify where deals are truly stuck. • Replace activity with decision clarity. • Build a pipeline you can actually trust. If you’ve ever had a “strong” pipeline that didn’t convert…this will resonate.
