When people ask whether brand still matters, we should all look at moments like this. The MC Hammer GEICO commercial wasn’t just a nostalgia play or a cultural wink. It was a masterclass in modern brand building timely, recognizable, and unmistakably GEICO. What made it work wasn’t just the creative idea. It was the system behind the work. A team that understands: - How cultural relevance drives memorability - How entertainment earns attention in a crowded market - How consistency compounds over time - And how great brand work supports growth, not distracts from it Because when brand shows up this clearly, it does more than entertain: - It reinforces trust - It shortens decision cycles - It keeps GEICO top‑of‑mind when it matters most This is what strong marketing organizations do. They build the conditions for great work to happen and repeat. Huge credit to Tom Perlozzo and Sialoren Spaulding who brought this idea to life. This is how brands stay relevant. This is how businesses grow. https://lnkd.in/erm-wF3a
May 2026This hit me harder than it should have. “Recalculating route.” That’s all the GPS says. No judgment. No panic. No obsession over the wrong turn. Just a new path forward…. Life works the same way. Some of the biggest turning points in my career came from moments I never planned for: Roles changing. Companies merging. Unexpected setbacks. Difficult environments. Disappointments you don’t see coming. In the moment, it feels like everything is going off course. Then years later, you realize those moments shaped you more than the easy seasons ever did. What separates people over time is not avoiding wrong turns…. It’s the ability to adapt without losing your direction. Too many people spend years replaying the mistake… The strongest leaders eventually focus on the next move instead. Because careers, leadership, and life rarely follow a straight line. Sometimes the detour becomes the path you were actually meant to take.
May 2026🧠 When the Human Mind Becomes the Command Interface We are standing at the edge of a profound convergence. Brain-Computer Interface technology — led by Neuralink's "Telepathy" implant — is no longer science fiction. It is being scaled. Elon Musk has announced high-volume production of BCI devices and fully automated surgical procedures in 2026. This is no longer a horizon — it's a timeline. What does this mean for critical operations? 🔴 Search & Rescue Operators mentally commanding drone swarms through collapsed structures — no radio, no lag. Neural-linked responders process real-time sensor feeds directly, cutting decision latency when every second counts. 🟡 Emergency Services Neural feedback during simulations may accelerate skill acquisition and reduce training times for complex tasks. (Mount Bonnell) First responders receive live situational data streamed directly to their awareness — no screen, no hands required. 🔵 Military Soldiers could silently transmit thoughts and commands, enabling real-time coordination and more rapid response to threats. (The Conversation) Drone swarms and vehicles controlled by thought alone. Precision and speed beyond conventional command. The critical dimension: AI-Assisted Decision Making When AI fuses with human neural input, threat classification and target selection can be augmented — or increasingly automated. The human remains in the loop, but the loop accelerates beyond traditional comprehension. BCIs are already being field-tested by the United States and China, bringing significant risks and advantages as they move from laboratory to battlefield. This demands answers: ▪️ Who bears accountability when a neural-assisted decision causes collateral damage? ▪️ What defines "human control" when the human IS the interface? ▪️ How do we govern AI-augmented target selection? The technology is accelerating. Governance is lagging. Neuralink has already received approval for trials in the UAE — placing this conversation inside our own backyard. The question isn't whether this changes everything. The question is whether we are ready. Where does human judgment end and AI augmentation begin in life-or-death decisions? 👇 #AI #Neuralink #BrainComputerInterface #FutureOfWarfare #SearchAndRescue #DefenceTechnology #UAE #NeuralTech

Apr 2026The Right to Repair has been under attack for years, no more so than in farm equipment Combines, harvesters and even simple tractors have seen fights over their proprietary software that makes them so effective When a farmer would want to repair their modern hyper automated tractor they'd be told it can only be done by an authorized technician using branded parts at a much higher price than expected. Or, they'd be told their gear was no longer supported and they'd have to "upgrade" to the latest thing with even more proprietary parts and software and no way to avoid the loock-in Well, now someone is offering a better deal to farmers, using rebuilt Cummins engines from the 90's. Ursa Ag, out of Canada, is building farm equipment that's both affordable and serviceable by independent shops. The lesson here is that if you see your customer as someone to exploit, you can actually drive your customers into the arms of someone willing to treat them like people and not a cash register. https://lnkd.in/gTXKbnnB
Apr 2026Sad to see Paul Brainerd the man behind PageMaker passed. I don't know that anyone except maybe Dan Bricklin, the inventor of Visicalc had a greater impact on the way personal computing would evolve. When the LaserWriter and PageMaker came out (along with the personal PrintShoPro apps), suddenly everyone had a newsletter. Most of them were... not amazing?... but they were a step on the way to the digital industry we have today and the breaking down of priesthoods (not a religious term, but one indicating where gatekeepers are disintermediated). I think we're starting the see the priesthoods being assaulted again by AI and by the ability to create apps or copy or images with a few lines of text or markdown. Like the PageMaker revolution, most of the output will be... not amazing?.. but some will be good enough to push the art forward. - https://lnkd.in/g_UgYSDc
