AI is changing the way the world approaches cybersecurity, but I believe one thing must remain sacred: the human layer. In my latest blog post, I share why our human hackers continue to sit at the heart of effective security. At Intigriti , every product decision is built around amplifying the hacker, not replacing them. That's what "human-shaped" means. It's not marketing. It's an architectural choice. Here, I explore not only where human hackers fit in, and why and how AI should amplify human creativity, but the strategic choices leaders need to make in the next three to five years. Coming up, I will share my views on your most pressing AI questions. So, watch this space, and read the full blog here: https://lnkd.in/ecYAZnC7 #AI #BugBounty #EthicalHacking #HumanLayer
May 2026Are AI-generated submissions flooding bug bounty programs with "AI slop" (in a purely negative sense)? That’s the prevailing industry rumor right now. But if you look at the data, it tells a completely different story. I’ve seen firsthand how AI is reshaping our internal practices. Across Product, Design, and Data, we’re using it to improve how we work: AI agents that create content and market signals from our problem initiative and solutions docs, vibe-coded prototypes at pace linked directly to our design systems, and AI that helps everyone write SQL for data discovery. Meanwhile, Engineering is driving incredible innovation by leaning hard into Vibe Coding. Seeing this internal acceleration made me curious about our external ecosystem. In my latest article for Intigriti , I dive into the numbers to debunk common misconceptions about AI’s impact on crowdsourced security. Instead of a decline in submission quality, we are seeing a major structural shift in scale and velocity. Here are the 3 key trends reshaping the landscape: 1. AI is a throughput multiplier: AI tools are compressing the time needed for recon, attack path exploration, and payload iteration. Researchers are significantly more productive. The result? Submission volume increases, but the baseline validity ratio remains stable. 2. The barrier to entry has dropped: We are attracting new researchers at a record pace. AI reduces the friction of early-stage learning, helping eager beginners move from curiosity to submission faster. In fact, new researchers are producing nearly double the submissions in their first 30 days compared to a year ago. 3. "AI Slop" isn't taking over: Submission volume has grown by 328% since 2022, half of that it the last year alone. While more volume inevitably means more absolute noise, the proportion of valid submissions remains constant. The best hackers are leveraging AI to work faster while still producing excellent findings. The Bottom Line: AI isn't breaking the bug bounty model; it’s accelerating it. But to turn this massive increase in volume into actionable signal, organizations must evolve. Coordinated models and AI-assisted triage workflows are no longer optional, they are essential to keep pace with the new norm. https://lnkd.in/etvJn_4j #Cybersecurity #BugBounty #ArtificialIntelligence #AppSec #ThreatIntel #InfoSec #Intigriti #ThoughtLeadership #ProductManagement
