What a couple of days at the MTSP and MSP show London ☁️ There’s something about being in a room full of people who are all pushing to grow, innovate, and solve real problems. The conversations reminded me exactly why I love what I do! Met some incredible businesses and whether you’re scaling your AI workloads, modernising your infrastructure, or just starting the cloud conversation, IONOS has something worth talking about!! Especially our Enterprise GPU service powered by NVIDIA H200, built for businesses serious about AI and ML. High performance, no unnecessary complexity. #IONOS #GPU #CloudInfrastructure #AI #EnterpriseCloud #Networking illapa cloud
May 2026“What we are embarking on today will determine the future of the entire European Union. Artificial intelligence factories are building Europe’s digital sovereignty, and today Kraków has joined this map.” Strong quote by Dariusz Standerski, PhD , Secretary of State at the Polish Ministry of Digital Affairs. The fabulous Magdalena Chudzikiewicz , General Manager of Polish digital champion home.pl , part of IONOS Group , agrees: “The launch of the Gaia AI Factory demonstrates that Poland is taking a quantum leap in digital sovereignty.” The new Gaia AI initiative in Kraków will provide world-class AI computing infrastructure for companies, universities and public institutions, backed by major European Union investment and one of Poland’s leading supercomputing centers, Academic Computer Centre CYFRONET AGH . Exciting to see these kinds of projects move from strategy papers and conference panels into reality. This is the kind of ecosystem-building Europe needs more of. Also: the event location looked so breathtaking that I briefly considered checking whether “European AI sovereignty delegate” is a role one can self-appoint to for travel purposes.... ;) Photo credit: Andrzej Banaś; Michał Łepecki, Cyfronet
May 2026Two thirds of Europe’s SMBs want AI. More than half draw the line when they can’t verify where the data goes. Seeing those numbers come in from the 2026 IONOS SMB digitalization survey in cooperation with YouGov made me jump for joy. FINALLY: a technology that the, let's call them "digitally-timid", European small and medium-sized companies are actually excited about. And it's the great equalizer. With AI, anyone can do and be and build anything. This gives me tremendous hope for European competitiveness, prosperity on both a continental and individual level and most of all self-determination. My take on the massive potential for the European tech industry: Don't ship a flex. Ship an actually useful tool. Think context over maximum capabilities. Think "frugal and understandable" over "maximized and complex". SMBs need working software that doesn't hallucinate invoices, leak customer data, put you halfway in jail, or require bottomless budgets (hello to the usual suspects from the lovely US West Coast). That’s where European AI has a shot. We don't need to win model size contests. But we should be champions of building truly *sensible* and well-thought-through products with a smaller blast radius, tighter context and actual operational trust. If we manage that, we'll have achieved a big step towards overall digital sovereignty. Because change starts there - on the desktop, in the minds of everyday users. If we now manage to build those essential AI tools on the right European, sovereign infrastructure from the start - *chef's kiss*. Imagine where we could be in just a couple of years! Study (German): https://lnkd.in/dGBfjezr Shoutout to my colleague Karen Graeper for owning this study the sixth year running, and to Dr. Andreas Nauerz Patrick Schaudel Lars Watling Patrick Kunzer Jörg Thalmann Aron Herr Amira Elkanawati and the whole product department for building exactly what European SMBs need right now. Image: me mid bending down to jump for joy. AI-enhanced, obviously.

Apr 2026This is honestly amazing news and I've been waiting for this! 🙌 Nextcloud Workspace is now live on IONOS Cloud, fully managed, deployed across EU data centers, and built from the ground up for GDPR compliance. For anyone who's been frustrated with hyperscalers and their murky data residency policies... this is a big deal. Your data stays in the EU. Full stop! 🔒 EU-only infrastructure (Germany-based) 🤝 File sharing, docs, emails, all in one place ⚖️ GDPR-ready by default, not as an afterthought European organizations finally have a serious alternative that doesn't make you choose between collaboration and compliance. Love to see it. #Nextcloud #IONOSCloud #DataSovereignty #GDPR #EUCloud #CloudComputing https://lnkd.in/dr7dfnwH
