Happy to have joined fellow executives this morning for the Absa KH3-7 Hills Run, an initiative by our partner Absa Bank Uganda aimed at keeping the girl child in school. This initiative seeks to ensure that vulnerable girls are not left behind, giving them the opportunity to pursue education as the first step toward writing their own story of possibility. As a proud girl dad, I am honored to have participated in this cause, and I believe I may have been the first CEO to cross the finish line. Congratulations to Absa on the success of this edition. Let’s keep running together for impact, and I look forward to doing this again next year. Mulinge Sylvia M.B.S David A. Wandera, FCCA Tetteh Ayitevie

Apr 2026For the longest time, my world in UiPath revolved around development, designing workflows, handling exceptions, optimizing performance, and getting processes to run efficiently. That was my comfort zone. But recently, I found myself on the other side of the journey, setting up enterprise UiPath in a banking environment… and that’s where everything changed. Because this isn’t just about automation anymore. It’s about architecture. It’s about governance. And most importantly, it’s about security. Before a single workflow is built, there are critical questions that need answers: 👉 Where does the data live? 👉 Who has access to it? 👉 How is it protected? 👉 What happens when something fails? I quickly realized that in banking, automation is not just about making things faster, it’s about making them safe, controlled, and compliant. 🔐 Security Becomes the Foundation (Not an Afterthought) Things I never had to think deeply about before are now front and center: -Encryption (at rest and in transit) -Secure credential storage (no more shortcuts) -Ensuring sensitive data never appears in logs -Token-based authentication and expiry -Data residency and where information is actually stored And one of the biggest lessons for me: 👥 RBAC (Role-Based Access Control) is not optional, it’s foundational It’s no longer just “give access and move on.” It’s: -Who should see what? -Who can deploy vs who can only run? -Who can access credentials? -What happens when access needs to be revoked? The principle of least privilege becomes very real. 🧠 Shift in mindset As a developer, I used to think: “How do I make this work?” Now I find myself thinking: “How do I build this in a secure, controlled and still scalable?” Even the smallest things like Logging, Exception handling and how data flows now have a security lens. ⚙️ It’s also a team effort Another realization, this is not a one-person job. Setting up UiPath properly involves: -Security teams -Infrastructure teams -Cloud and Identity teams -Governance and compliance -Fellow developers As a developer, you’re part of a much bigger ecosystem. Still learning. Still figuring things out. This phase has honestly stretched my thinking in the best way.😊 But definitely seeing automation from a whole new perspective. #UiPath #RPA #Automation #CyberSecurity #BankingTech #DigitalTransformation #CloudSecurity
Apr 2026Last week in Uganda, we marked a defining moment with the launch of our unified #brand following the coming together of our Life and Health businesses, supported by the Together for Better campaign. It was a pleasure engaging our #stakeholders including staff, agents, media, industry players, and partners across multiple forums. The discussions on this amalgamation were insightful, particularly on its role in deepening insurance awareness, driving uptake, and enabling more relevant, appropriately priced solutions. Equally powerful were the personal stories shared, moments where coming together made a difference in families and professional journeys. This reinforced a simple truth: Together for Better is not a campaign line but a lived reality. I am energized by the impact this #campaign will unlock in Uganda and look forward to continuing to lean into personal stories and lived experiences to deepen #engagement and strengthen authentic #brandconnection.
Apr 2026I had a great time sharing parts of my journey with the Daily Nation as part of the #IWD2026 conversation. Looking back, progress has come from a mix of personal drive, continuous learning, and the guidance of mentors who offered perspective at important moments. I would like to acknowledge the many leaders who have supported my ambitions and the mentors who have shared their time and insight along the way. A special mention to Patricia Ithau HSC, Mbuvi Ngunze and Gerald Mahinda, whose perspective and encouragement have been particularly meaningful. I believe sharing our #leadership stories and mentoring those around us is one of the ways we can pay it forward.
