The biggest lesson I’ve learned leading AI at K&L Gates is that successful AI transformation has very little to do with the AI models or tools themselves. Justice Angelis continues the long tradition of public service at K&L Gates in our state, joining civic leaders like Jim Ellis and William Gates, Sr., former Washington State Supreme Court Justice Charles Horowitz, Judge Betty Binns Fletcher of the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, and Washington State Governor Bob Ferguson. We’re proud of you, Justice Angelis, and know that you’ll serve the people of Washington and the Rule of Law with truth, honor, and integrity. May 2026I enjoyed the Oregon State Society banquet with my K&L Gates colleagues Lauren Flynn, David Skillman & Scott Nelson . Great to see people from the homeland, and raised a glass (or two) of Corvallis wine!
May 2026So excited to welcome Maribeth Gravunder, PE to K&L Gates International Trade, Investment Controls, and National Security practice group and to have the opportunity to work together again. In government, we joined forces when she represented the Department of Commerce on the Export Administration Regulations, while I worked on the State Department side with the International Traffic in Arms Regulations. Maribeth brings a wealth of regulatory experience and deep expertise as a licensed professional engineer, and I am thrilled to collaborate with her again to deliver the best outcomes for our clients.
