Some lovely feedback to end the week. I appreciated these kind words from a client I enjoyed working with. A nice reminder of why the people side of the job matters just as much as the legal side

May 2026Someone wise once told me: “Sports doesn’t wait for your plan. It writes its own script.” I didn’t fully get it then. Coming back to sports after years - I do now. … and honestly, it feels like I never left - just that the game got faster. There’s something wildly addictive about Sports PR/ Comms No amount of planning prepares you for what happens once the whistle blows. You can have the cleanest narrative, the tightest messaging, the most aligned stakeholders… …and then a last-minute goal, a surprise loss, or one unexpected quote changes everything. And suddenly, you’re not just communicating. You’re reacting, recalibrating, rewriting in real time. What I’d forgotten (and quickly relearned): → In sports, timing isn’t important. It’s everything. → Momentum is a better storyteller than any press release. → Fans can see through fluff in seconds , authenticity isn’t optional. → And the best PR moments? You can’t manufacture them, you have to be ready for them. Also - it humbles you. Quickly. Just when you think you’ve got it right, the game reminds you who’s in charge. But that’s the thrill. Getting back into the “game” has been equal parts chaos, nostalgia, and adrenaline. And I wouldn’t have it any other way. #SportsPR #BackInTheGame #Communications #SportsIndustry
