Nine times out of ten it’s "Reading/Travelling/Family" 🥱. But once in a while, there is a glimpse of the human behind the professional: flea markets, rock music, pottery, video games… Do hobbies influence the hiring decision? No. But they have a way of influencing how we show up at work. We walk into the office with a different confidence when we find fulfilment in pastimes that have nothing to do with work. Hobbies protect our identity from becoming our job titles. They give us a space that is ours alone, untouchable by bosses and immune to KPIs. And even when life is too busy for hobbies, just knowing you would <windsurf> if you had the time, provides a stable supply of dreams, regardless of how you're performing at work.
