May 2026“We have to rebuild dialogue. Compromise is essential for our existence”. Today at the International Bar Association in Warsaw, I had the opportunity to attend an inspiring session featuring former President of Poland Aleksander Kwaśniewski. His remarks centered on a message that feels increasingly urgent: the need to rebuild genuine dialogue in a world that is drifting toward polarization. He emphasized that compromise is not a loss of principle, but a prerequisite for coexistence — a foundation for any society that hopes to move forward constructively. For those of us working across borders, cultures, and legal systems, the reminder resonated deeply. Dialogue and compromise are not abstract ideals; they are practical tools for solving real problems and sustaining international cooperation. Littler . Thank you dr Szymon M. Apr 2026Happy Dutch–American Friendship Day! 🇺🇸🇳🇱 I learned something today! On April 19, 1782, the United States and the Netherlands formally established diplomatic relations when John Adams was received by the States General in The Hague. That same day, Adams purchased the house at Fluwelen Burgwal 18 — the first American embassy anywhere in the world. The Dutch role was far more than symbolic. Following recognition, Adams secured a 5‑million‑guilder loan from Dutch bankers, a financial lifeline that helped fund the final phase of the American Revolution. Two centuries later, in 1982, President Ronald Reagan officially designated April 19 as Dutch–American Friendship Day. This week, Their Majesties King Willem‑Alexander and Queen Máxima marked the occasion in Philadelphia with a visit to Independence Hall alongside Governor Josh Shapiro and First Lady Lori Shapiro. During the visit, the King presented a replica of the Plakkaat van Verlatinghe — often viewed as the Dutch “Declaration of Independence.” In return, Pennsylvania presented a replica of the Pennsylvania Charter. At Littler , I get to put this friendship into practice every day. Whatever may set us apart at times, we always share far more in common — not just between the Netherlands and the United States, but across all the countries where we work together. Apr 2026Am Law has released its 2026 Am Law 100 rankings, and Littler now stands at #62 by gross revenue, up from #75 last year! This rise reflects an important shift: for the first time, we provided Am Law with select financial data directly, allowing the rankings to more accurately capture the firm’s true financial performance and long‑standing market strength. This correction brings our placement in line with the business reality we’ve been operating under for years and offers a clearer external view of our sustained growth, financial discipline, and leadership. It’s a moment worth celebrating — Thank you to everyone whose commitment continues to drive Littler forward!
