The Longest 6-Month Gig of My Life 15 years ago today, I took a job I thought would last 6 months. I was looking for a paycheque while I figured out my next move. Instead, I found something better than I was looking for. I found a place that shaped my career, stretched me as a person, and helped me become the leader I am still working to be. What kept me here was never the work. Jobs are everywhere. What made this place different was the people. The kind of people who challenge you, support you, laugh with you, believe in you, and remind you that work can still feel deeply human. The kind of people who make your life better and inspire you to try to do the same for others. Somewhere along the way, I realized I didn’t need to leave to find the next great thing. The next opportunity, the next challenge, kept showing up right here. And that has been one of the greatest surprises of this journey. After 15 years, what means the most to me is not just what I’ve gained, but what I hope I’ve given back. I hope I’ve helped build the kind of culture that made me want to stay in the first place, one where people feel seen, supported, challenged, valued, and yes, where there is still room for fun along the way. Because life is too short to spend most of it in places that drain you. Today, I’m incredibly proud to celebrate 15 years at Long View. Proud of the growth. Proud of the lessons. Proud of the people. Proud of the leader I am still becoming, because that journey never really ends. And maybe most of all, I hope I’ve played a small part in making work, and life, better for others too. Oh! and just to be clear, I’m still chasing the next great thing. I hope I always am. I have far too many people to thank who have supported me, cheered me on, and put up with me over these 15 years and continue to do so, so truly — thank you all! and thank you Long View Systems !
