Looking forward to be a keynote speaker at the International Compliance Association Future of FinCrime and Compliance Summit tomorrow in London, where I’ll be giving a brief overview of our 2026 LRN E&C Program Effectiveness Report results. I’m also delighted to have been part of the Advisory Board ahead of the Summit, which was comprised of compliance leaders from banks, financial services, and non‑financial institutions, to identify the industry’s most pressing priorities, challenges, and emerging uncertainties as we move into 2026 and beyond. We hope we’ve created an agenda which is representative of the real needs, expectations, and evolving landscape faced by today’s practitioners, which will cover financial crime, compliance strategy, and where enforcement is heading. I’ll also be going a great panel titled “From Gatekeeper to Growth Partner: The Evolving Role of GRC” featuring Rosalind D. , Adrian Burton , Emily Gooday and Adam Moore . May 2026Nasdaq published their 3rd Annual Global Governance Pulse this month with responses from 700 board members, CEOs, and governance professionals surveyed globally. 96% expect board scrutiny and time demands to stay elevated or increase. But, only 30% say their evaluations produce meaningful, measurable change. Which isn’t surprising as for the most part these evaluations are ticking boxes. They are (for the most part) internally facilitated, politically cautious, and backward-looking. They confirm that activities have happened, but rarely confirm that the process produced better decisions. We do the same thing in ethics and compliance. Training completion rates. Policy sign-offs. Audit findings closed. All activity. No real outcomes. The report also flags something I think is really underestimated, which is that board information quality is a governance constraint. 78% say their board materials need improvement to ensure important and timely data is highlighted vs being buried in hundreds of pages of numbers. If the board pack is dense, retrospective, and management-framed, the board is dependent on management interpretation before the conversation even starts. That’s not oversight. Unsurprisingly, AI governance sits underneath all of this too. 45% of respondents say AI expertise would most improve their board. 19% are not discussing AI at board level at all. So the gap between awareness and operationalised governance is still very wide. Worth reading if governance is your bag. https://lnkd.in/eGp3K8fi

Apr 2026Chuir mi seachad latha ann am Baile Àtha Cliath an t-seachdain sa chaidh, a' tadhal air an sgioba air leth aig Gaeltacht UCD agus ag ionnsachadh mun obair aca. Bha cothrom agam bruidhinn ri cuid dhe na h-oileanaich a tha a' gabhail pàirt ann an sgeama-còmhnaidh Teach na Gaeilge, agus abair gu bheil iad air a bhith trang a' brosnachadh a' chànain air feadh an Oilthighe am bliadhna-sa! 💚 Mòran taing dha Clár, Aislinn agus Fiachra aig Gaeltacht UCD agus dha na h-oileanaich uile airson fàilte a chur orm. Tha mi a' dèanamh fiughair gu mòr ri obrachadh còmhla ribh uile san àm ri teachd! - Last week, I was lucky enough to visit the team at Gaeltacht UCD and meet some of the students on the Teach na Gaeilge Irish-language residency scheme. It was great to hear about all of the projects they have been working on over the year to promote the language on campus. Sin sibh fhèin! 💚 Many thanks to Clár, Aislinn and Fiachra at Gaeltacht UCD and all the students for welcoming me. I'm looking forward to working with you more in the future! #Gàidhlig #Gaeilge #Alba #students #language
Apr 2026Over thirty years ago, I founded the East Park Karate Kai, a Karate Dojo at Solent University , because there wasn’t a club close by and a few of my fellow freshers wanted a place to train and call their own. Recently, I pulled on my old hoodie to prove it still fits. We were an all-styles club, me, a Wado Ryu Black Belt and a few college Karate enthusiasts and friends. We weren’t bad either, good enough to win team silver at the BUSA British University Karate Championship. Back from my business trip to Japan last month reminded me why this art never leaves you. The discipline, the clarity, the respect embedded in every interaction. You feel it everywhere. The badge matters as much now as it did then. Perhaps more so, given that I now chair the Business, Law and Society Impact Board at the same university where I once was a student. The hoodie fits. The kick and the flexibility in old photo? Let’s just say I’m working on it. Thirty years. One hoodie. Still moving. Nick , I think you know exactly what I’m talking about.
Apr 2026Traditional delivery models often struggle with one core issue: disconnected workflows. The framework below represents our shift to End-to-End AI-Assisted Delivery — designed to eliminate that gap. It integrates: • Planning, mockups, and security from the start • Structured documentation powered by AI • Execution supported by AI agents and iterative code assist • Automated QA and validation Instead of moving work across silos, we create a continuous, AI-supported flow. However, one principle remains unchanged: 👉 Human-in-the-loop review is essential AI accelerates execution, but human judgment ensures correctness and quality. 🔑 The biggest shift: We deliver complete features, not fragmented stories. This approach is redefining how we think about speed, quality, and ownership in engineering. #AI #EngineeringExcellence #Transformation #Automation
