AI pipelines shouldn't take weeks to build. They should take minutes. Most AI feature code today is a tangled mix: business logic, retry loops, model routing, parallel scheduling - all jammed into the same file. Every new feature re-solves the same infrastructure problems. Every runtime improvement means rewriting product code. At MacPaw πΊπ¦ we think that's the wrong shape. Three principles we're building around: - Pipelines should be built in seconds, not weeks. - Business logic and execution belong in separate layers β developers write intent, the runtime handles scheduling and model selection. - The future of AI is local. Better privacy, predictable costs, no vendor lock-in. This is our vision of how AI agents should be built in the nearest future, and it's becoming real. We're building ELIX, a complete standalone framework that implements all of it: a SwiftUI-inspired DSL for authoring, an execution engine that handles parallel batching and incremental re-execution, with the same pipeline code running on macOS, iOS, and cloud. Maksym Kotliar just published the first deep technical note on the architecture β the DSL contract, the compiler/executor split, epoch-based re-execution, and the local-first thesis. https://lnkd.in/dAPUUjPn More coming as we keep building.
May 2026Last year at #WWDC , a chill conversation jump-started my career. I was there as a Swift Student Challenge winner β starstruck, slightly overwhelmed, fully expecting someone to tap me on the shoulder and tell me my badge was a mistake. Then I bumped into some folks from MacPaw πΊπ¦ . We just talked. About projects, about Mac development, about my story and what they were working on. It didn't feel like networking. A few months later it turned into an interview. The interview turned into a job. Now I'm a Junior macOS Software Engineer at MacPaw πΊπ¦ , and through the Apple developer lottery, I get to walk back into Apple Park for #WWDC2026 . Different door in, same disbelief. Which is exactly why I'm biased about what we're doing this year. The real value of WWDC isn't the keynote β it's the people around it. So MacPaw πΊπ¦ is making sure those conversations actually happen: π Flip the Script β June 7β8 | AGI House, Hillsborough, CA Two days on building, distributing, and monetizing AI apps. A panel on AI-first product decisions, a live demo on shipping AI apps without torching your margin. πΈοΈ MacPaw Discord Watch Party β June 8, 10 AM PT Live keynote reactions, community discussion, MacBook giveaway. For everyone watching from anywhere else. If you're around for WWDC week, come hang. You never know which conversation is the one. Who else is going to be there? π Link's in the comments. #WWDC2026 #MacPaw #macOS #WWDC #Apple #Swift
