Exciting night with fellow HR colleagues who shared the same aspirations for industry at large, our function, and our respective companies. The main topic was around AI. While most organizations can now put AI tools in front of their people, far fewer have figured out how to build the judgment to use them well. Most think it is IT issue but in reality, it's a human development one and that means it falls squarely in HR's lane to bring people along without leaving them behind. No clear answers yet, but the right people are asking the right questions.

It was a privilege to be part of Rising HR - Philly alongside an accomplished group of HR leaders, sharing perspectives on career paths, lessons learned, and what the work looks like today. I especially enjoyed connecting with attendees during the networking portion of the evening. The level of curiosity and engagement from those early in their careers served as a great reminder of the momentum in this field right now. The field of HR continues to evolve in ways that make it an especially compelling place to build a career. What was once seen primarily as a transactional function now sits much closer to the center of how organizations grow, adapt, and enable their people. Thank you, Rising HR – Philly for creating a forum that meaningfully connects emerging talent with experienced leaders and advances the profession in our region.

Last night, I had the privilege of attending the Team IMPACT Gala in Boston—and I’m still reflecting on the experience today. Team IMPACT’s mission is simple, yet incredibly powerful: connecting children facing serious illness and disability with college athletic teams, creating relationships that change lives on both sides. What stood out most to me wasn’t just the mission—it was the people. Hearing directly from the children and families, and seeing the genuine bonds formed with their teams, was nothing short of inspiring. These young athletes gain more than just a place on a roster—they gain confidence, belonging, and a support system during some of life’s toughest moments. But what struck me even more is what they give back. Their courage, perspective, and resilience have a profound impact on their teammates, reminding everyone what it truly means to be part of a team. It’s a powerful example of how the value of “team” extends far beyond the game. An unforgettable evening and an organization making a real difference.
