I (try) to close out (most) weeks with a "Week End Update" to my team letting them know how I'm spending my time and what my priorities are for the next few weeks. This week, I added some colour to my weekly communique by asking Copilot to put me on the set of SNL's Weekend Update and swap me in for host Colin Jost. 😎 It was a big news week for the trucking industry! If you follow industry media or trucking leaders on LinkedIn, you know there was plenty to get them excited about. Unfortunately, there is no shortage of issues, criminality, fraud and corruption in the industry. While provincial and federal lobby groups and associations have been advocating for more enforcement and oversight for years, the government, agencies and media are finally taking notice in both Canada and the United States. That's good news. There was a damning report from the Ontario Auditor General this week about fraud in the driver training and licensing system in that province that has a lot of folks talking. While it exposes issues in Ontario driving schools, this is a national issue. Variations of these types of schemes are happening in every province, and these Ontario “trained” long-haul truck drivers are operating on highways across country. That's bad news. https://lnkd.in/gif7tPnN The other big story this week was the U.S. Supreme Court’s ruling that freight brokers can be held liable for carrier negligence for highway accidents. This is a very big deal for US and Canadian brokers. The prior lack of accountability of freight brokers is a big reason they readily enable Driver Inc. and all the related shady driver training and licensing practices. This Supreme Court decision should help weed out some of the bad actors who won’t be able to afford the extra insurance costs that will be necessary. More good news. https://lnkd.in/gNCV4GC8 Lots of headwinds in trucking these days for sure, but I've been sensing for some time now that the winds are shifting. The media, government and enforcement agencies are taking notice. Public pressure is mounting for higher standards, oversight and enforcement. The more people know and talk about these issues, the better. Most people have no idea. As an industry and as a country, we have to do better - and I believe we will. Have a great May long weekend. Just recently heard some good ideas about AI testing issues.. My caws are still in a field yet.. they are doing some QA as I see.. Well, will be cleaning this s.. tomorrow then. My caws are really starving to be the best candidates in QA.. but I did not feed them as much.. surprising.. To say the truth - neither POC nor QAA may help in any AI testing.. Why? K, just because.. If you are not a company-developer for AI, but just a consumer.. 1 - you cannot do any completely approved test for AI locally.. 2 - you mostly do not have a qualified security personal for doing such tests.. And ,finally, who exactly is signing the final "approval".. my gosh not me.. :))) I do not think I need to continue..

Time is not Money as you cannot buy any quantum of Time by your Money.. I start feeling that AI have already replaced LI.. :) So, just to talk to AI.. - what was a major output from Einstein's theory? E=mc^2 ? No.. never.. but.. "Einstein won the 1921 Nobel Prize in Physics for his explanation of the photoelectric effect, which was pivotal in developing quantum theory" - sounds good..:)) and a quantum theory starts from there having a single and a simple question inside about.. what TIME is meaning at all? :)) ------------ "In 2007, a collection of Einstein's papers, notes, and calculations were accidentally destroyed in a wildfire in California" - where the heck and how they were keeping EINSTEIN hand written PAPERS ??? Same happened recently to some other papers by Jepstine.. ha? :))) ------------ So, my best regards for those who value his/her TIME and is not reading my stupid posts.. Save you very limited TIME by making something pleasant to yourself, your grandies, your children.. and when you have some extra moment - just give a few coins to anybody who you see needs some of your attention.. My respect to all who reached the end of this sh..

Carney says " I developed a practice called ‘forward guidance.’" ... Maybe these words means something for my caws in my farm, but not to me in a person, sorry.. Risk management is a usual discipline if you get to some higher school education.. I am not talking about the university one.. What is the sense of such a "new" scientific discovery ? :)) Just step by step.. :)
