Had a great conversation with Paul Comfort about the exciting future planned for VRE. I’m looking forward to next time when I can talk about accomplishments as well as aspirations!
May 2026#FlashbackFriday to an enthusiastic rookie Streetcar Motorperson working his first summer as a part timer. Years later, he would uphold contractual language protecting shorts in the summer uniform. The right to bare legs, among many other reasons, is why I do this work. In all sincerity, I love what my folks do. There’s nowhere in this world I’d rather be.
May 2026We’ve listened to our riders and know that they want access to reliable WiFi during their trip. If you are a technology company or provider, please respond to our RFI to help us understand what solutions may be available.
May 2026I would like to take a moment to highlight the in- house MBTA Track Production crew, and the MOW Engineers for their successful fabrication and construction of the entire # 5 turnout switch on the mainline. I wanted to especially recognize Supervisor Gabriel Ruiz, who is a rising star within the MBTA. He has embraced this challenge alongside a team of relatively new employees. They removed and installed all the timber ties, and switch ties, plated and gauged the all the ties , and Installed all the rail.
May 2026Thanks to everyone who attended the “Beyond Alerts: Building Trust through Digital Storytelling” session at #CommsSchool2026 ! I very much appreciated your questions engagement throughout. Excited to spend the rest of the conference connecting with new people, sharing some of what’s been working for us at the MBTA , and learning from agencies and organizations across the country. What’s been your favorite National Association of Government Communicators Comms School moment so far?
May 2026I’ve been blessed to be part of the turnaround story that is the MBTA over the past 2 1/2 years. Early when I began this role as COO, I gathered the Operations Leadership team, and we talked about where things were at, and where they are going. Some people were nervous, some excited, and some curiously quiet. We left that meeting, all making silent commitments to each other. Now, some people have come, some have gone, but many are still the same people who accepted the challenges ahead of us. Since then, we fostered an atmosphere of breaking the “way we have always done it”, and we introduced a level of personal ownership that had not been allowed previously. We accepted that with ownership comes responsibility, and I made it a goal of mine to one day, work myself out of a job, by letting this team spread thier wings and make their own mark. Because of thier growth, and their commitment, I can take some time away. This past Monday, we provided exceptional service for the Boston Marathon, and I wasn’t there…..and that is what my job is.
Apr 2026Excited to head to Nashville in a few days--if you'll be at AGTA or nearby, let me know!
Apr 2026Come join the MBTA's Infrastructure Planning team! We're looking for an undergraduate intern/co-op for July-December. Not an undergraduate, or looking for something a little different? There are a bunch of new internship opportunities to check out. https://lnkd.in/egkJ6s55 ?
Apr 2026This marks 20 years for me at this agency, and it’s been a journey full of challenges, exciting moments, and great accomplishments. Through all the changes we’ve experienced over the years, one thing has remained constant: our pride in the work we do. I’m especially proud to be part of Capital Delivery. I’ve seen this department grow so much, always pushing to be more effective, more efficient, and better together. Thank you for all your support, and thank you for being part of this journey
