Honored and ready. 🙏🏾 When I introduced myself to the Georgia Trust for Local News team this week, I shared a few things LinkedIn doesn’t capture: I’m a wife, a mom, and a journalist who stepped into digital media roles 19 years ago and never looked back. Most importantly, I’m a builder of teams, products, and cultures. Now I get to build something that truly matters: helping transform the Georgia Trust for Local News into a resilient, digitally focused, growth-oriented nonprofit news network that serves the people of Middle and South Georgia with essential hyperlocal journalism. Now I get to drive meaningful impact. I can’t wait to get started on June 1.
May 2026We know local journalism helps people understand important issues, navigate disagreement, build connection and participate in public life. But many news organizations still struggle to measure and communicate that impact and value in ways that resonate with readers, funders, advertisers and communities. That’s why I’m excited about API’s upcoming Local News Summit on Measuring Impact for Civic Discourse, happening June 23–24 in Pittsburgh. We’ll bring together news leaders and community-minded thinkers to explore approaches that help local news organizations better understand and track impact across the communities they serve. API summits are intentionally participatory and designed for real conversation, practical learning and relationship-building — not panels for the sake of panels. If you’re actively working on these questions in your organization, I’d encourage you to apply by May 15. Learn more and apply here: https://lnkd.in/er_Wbfrz
