McGough

Nearly 100 people. One small town. Zero hesitation to jump in. On May 6th, our McGough team and trade partners showed up in Ellendale, North Dakota, ready to give back to a community that’s been taking care of us throughout this project. We’re talking boots on the ground—picking up litter around town, cleaning up public spaces, and yes… even hitting the fields. Not exactly in the job description, but no one blinked. That’s the kind of crew we’ve got. It’s always impressive to see what happens when this group comes together outside the jobsite. Different companies, different roles—but one shared purpose. And the impact speaks for itself. Appreciate everyone who took the time to be part of it and represent McGough so well. This is what being a true community partner looks like.

Spent the week in Minnesota for McGough ’s extended leadership training, and yes—we talked a lot about company culture… but not in the way you’d expect. One breakout session took a turn from “professional development” to “who the heck did we hire?” We learned: 🏥 One leader amputated a leg in 4 minutes… his first day in medical school. 💌 A PX in Texas received a personal thank you note from Saddam Hussein for fixing a light in his cell. 🧨 An EVP once set off bottle rockets from his pant pocket (still unclear why). 💅🏻 An Operations Director accidentally started a riot by channeling his inner Belinda Carlisle and running thru campus in drag. You know I had to story top… casually sharing that I was born in a Mexican prison and my mother and I were one of the first prisoners traded as part of the 1977 Prisoner Trade Treaty. All jokes aside, it was a powerful reminder that company culture isn’t built in conference rooms—it’s built through people, their stories, and the trust that comes from actually getting to know each other beyond job titles. Also… maybe a light background check moving forward. Just saying.

Nothing like a Saturday night suite for the Dallas Stars ⭐️ At McGough , we talk a lot about culture—and nights like this prove it’s real. When your coworkers feel more like family (lots of us actually are), the laughs are louder, the jokes are relentless, and everyone shows up like it’s game 7 of the Stanley Cup. Highlight of the night? Stacy Agnes (senior scheduler by day, aspiring lottery legend by night) thought she hit $17K on split the pot... Turns out… she read the ticket wrong. 🫣😆 A brief moment of financial freedom followed by an even quicker return to reality. Absolute rollercoaster. 🎢 All jokes aside, this is what it’s about—great people, great culture, and memories that stick (even if the winnings don’t). Wouldn’t trade it.
