LinkedInMarketing Strategy Agencies

“It’s an unfair game” And middle market marketers NEED smaller agencies to step up and help them win. In Moneyball (a movie based on Michael Lewis’ book), Oakland A’s General Manager Billy Beane (played by Brad Pitt) declares: “It’s an unfair game. If we try to play like the Yankees in here, we’ll lose to the Yankees out there.” Of course, Billy Beane is talking about how the Athletics, with one of the smallest payrolls in baseball, couldn’t compete with the Yankees by paying for expensive free agent players. They simply couldn’t afford it. They needed a new and different strategy. The marketing services space – the world of agencies - faces such a moment today. The largest marketing services agencies have been changing. They will no longer be agents. Rather, Forrester predicts they will become vendors that execute programs; merchants that resell software and media; affiliates that contribute capabilities to larger, matrixed organizations; and partners that deliver client-centric marketing services. The core strategy behind this move away from "agency", is principal media. The largest holding companies are already well along the path away from being agents. And some of the largest independents also have principal buying operations. This changes the playing field – further separating the largest Holdcos from a middle market of clients and agencies. If you need further evidence of that claim, simply listen to any earnings call or read any quarterly or annual report from these firms and you will see that their focus is on the largest global advertisers. This is where, for the middle market, Billy Beane’s quote becomes an essential strategic underpinning: “It’s an unfair game. If we try to play like the Yankees in here, we’ll lose to the Yankees out there.” Middle market clients need agencies focused on the unique challenges that they face, which are different from the largest global clients. There is an opening for small and mid-sized agencies to create and master transparent, modern, client performance centric solutions that work best for clients and their agencies. Acadia 's Jared Belsky is currently writing a superb series of posts about the middle market opportunity. Read it. And agencies, bring it on! The middle market needs your attention. 4As Agency Management Institute AMIN Worldwide MAGNET Global Network #advertising #marketers Worldwide Partners, Inc.

Great clients run great reviews. And they get the best agencies to support them. How can you make your firm more appealing to agencies? 1. Of course, the basic process is critical. Clients that run selection processes that are well structured, fair and respectful are more appealing to agencies. We suggest the Mercer Island Group process, which we have written about extensively (ask us!). And you can read about 21 pitfalls marketers can readily dodge to enhance your next agency review in one of our blogs. 2. In addition to a disciplined and clear process, there are a number of actions clients can take that will make their firm more appealing: - The Brand Mailing: Kick off your review by sending a brand-centric package to the participating agencies. Include your products and/or services if possible. Do you market CPG food products? Send samples of your products! Do you offer online business services? Send along free trial certificates and instructions on how to get the most out of your services. Mailings like these are rare, very appreciated, and proclaim loudly that you are a client that is looking for a true partner, one that will dive into your brand and business. - Gracious Greetings: Kick off all calls and meetings with a hearty “thank you”. Express your appreciation genuinely and authentically. Be on-time and actively listen. Show that you respect your partners through your behaviors. - Consolidated, Written Feedback within 24 hours: Don’t leave the agency with a variety of differing feedback. Consolidate the feedback and get it back to them within 24 hours. They are likely “on the clock”, and so you should be too! - Timely Updates: Make sure you provide prompt communication regarding the process, timelines and expectations. The agency has a business to run and this kind of clarity helps them manage their business. - Virtual (or real) Flowers: Show your appreciation to the winners AND other participants. A nice handwritten note. An offer to stay in touch. Maybe even real flowers… Your thoughts? LinkedInAI Transformation

🚀 From "Writing Code" to "Orchestrating Agents": The Software Shift of 2026 If you’re still thinking of AI as just a smarter autocomplete, you’re missing the biggest transition in the history of our industry. As of April 2026, we’ve officially moved past the "Copilot" era. We are now in the Age of Agentic Engineering. What’s actually changing right now? The 50% Milestone: Recent data shows that nearly 46% of code in active repositories is now AI-generated. At companies like Google and Microsoft, that number is climbing even higher. Repository Intelligence: We’ve moved beyond single-file prompts. AI now understands the entire history and architectural relationships of a codebase. It doesn’t just suggest a function; it suggests how that function impacts your legacy modules. Agentic Workflows: We aren't just writing code anymore. We are managing "digital colleagues." Agents are now capable of taking a Jira ticket, writing the feature, debugging it in a sandbox, and submitting the PR—all while we sleep. The "Vibe Coding" Era: As specialized agents handle the "how," the human role is pivoting entirely toward the "what" and "why." Our value is shifting from syntax proficiency to system architecture, task decomposition, and rigorous validation. The New Developer Skillset: AI Delegation: Knowing which tasks to hand off to an agent and which require human intuition. Objective-Validation Protocol: Moving from "typing" to "defining objectives" and "validating outcomes." Security Guardianship: As AI writes more code, the "plausible-looking bug" is our biggest enemy. The bottom line: In 2026, a single high-performer with an agentic stack is outproducing entire teams from 2024. Are you building software, or are you managing the machines that build it? 💻🤖 #SoftwareEngineering #AI2026 #AgenticAI #TechTrends #FutureOfWork #SoftwareDevelopment

LinkedInArtificial Intelligence

Honored to have been a speaker at MSTQB Mauritius TestCon 5 on 9 April 2026. I had the opportunity to present my session “Beyond 404: Breaking the Curse of Slow Systems with AI”, where I shared how AI-driven monitoring, observability, and intelligent incident analysis can help teams quickly detect performance issues, identify root causes, and restore system stability before users are impacted. It was also a privilege to meet and interact with the Dr. Klaudia Dussa-Zieger (Presidentof ISTQB) and Lilia Gargouri , along with many inspiring speakers and testing professionals from across the community. The conference featured several insightful presentations, many of which focused on the growing role of Artificial Intelligence in software testing — from intelligent automation to predictive quality engineering. Events like MSTQB TestCon are a great platform for learning, collaboration, and sharing innovative ideas that shape the future of quality engineering. A big thank you to the MSTQB Mauritius organizers Dr. Lovelesh Beeharry for hosting such a fantastic event and bringing together the testing community. Looking forward to continuing the conversation around AI-driven observability, performance engineering, and smarter incident management. Thanks Akshay Ramluckhun Rishi Soorkia and Vasudev Rao Dhaligadoo Rubric Quality Consultants Ltd for guiding me. #MSTQB #TestCon5 #SoftwareTesting #AI #Observability #PerformanceTesting #QualityEngineering #ISTQB
