Lately, I’ve been thinking a lot about people. Not politics. Not sides. Not headlines. People. There’s a heaviness many are carrying right now. Stress. Fear. Anxiety. Frustration. Exhaustion. And sometimes those emotions show up in ways that hurt others or push people further apart. But behind every reaction is often a person fighting a battle we know nothing about. This is why we need to check on each other. A simple call. A conversation. A text message. A moment of patience. A little more grace. It matters more than we realize. Meet people where they are. Listen before judging. Support before condemning. Some people are barely holding it together, and they don’t need more division — they need connection. No season lasts forever. Hard moments are temporary. And together, we can overcome more than we ever could alone. Be kind. Be present. Be the reason someone keeps believing tomorrow can get better. Sometimes the strongest thing we can do is simply remind another person: “You’re not alone.” #MentalHealthAwareness #CheckOnPeople #StrongerTogether #Leadership #Humanity #OneMileAtATime

Some time ago , during an intense 1:1 with my skip level boss, I admitted something I’d felt my entire life: “I know I’m different. I’ve known it since I was a child, so I’ve always tried my best to fit in.” I expected him to give me tips on how to "calibrate" better. Instead, he simply asked: “Isn’t it a good thing that you’re different?” That's it . Nothing more. For a long time, I believed success meant adjusting my energy and style to match the room so I wouldn't stand out for the wrong reasons. I was wrong. Great cultures are not built on uniformity but on belonging. There is a profound difference between the two: Fitting in requires you to shrink yourself to fit the space. Belonging is when the space expands to include all of who you are. When we ask our teams to blend in, we trade innovation for comfort. Lets stop looking for "culture fits." Start looking for "culture adds." The very parts of yourself you’ve been trying to hide might be exactly what your team is missing. Don't shrink. Expand the room. Now I do this for myself and for others who surround me. #Leadership #Inclusion #Belonging #LifeAtMKS #ProudToBeMKS

On my way to Nice, attending the #EPIC summit and AGM for the first time. More than 400 people from the photonics industry will gather. Excited to see what it will bring. Stay tuned. Just some days after the #AKL2026 (which was very good) it is a good opportunity to combine the insights from both events. Followed by #Optatech in Frankfurt just around the corner in the week after. Busy times

One of the most expensive execution problems I see doesn’t show up as missed effort or obvious misalignment. It shows up when leadership teams have to reconstruct reality from fragments. Updates arrive on different cadences. Risks surface in different forums. Decisions show up late — or without context. Individually, none of this looks broken. Collectively, it creates delay, rework, and surprise at the executive level. The organizations that execute most predictably aren’t working harder. They’ve been more intentional about how information, escalation, and decisions move together. When that flow is clear, leadership conversations shift: fewer surprises, cleaner decisions, more time spent looking forward. For executive teams — where does visibility break down most often: between teams, or between leadership layers?

3.5 years ago, I stepped into the Photonics division at MKS Inc. , marking my return to the workforce after a 2.5-year maternity break. Transitioning from a background in Materials Engineering and Semiconductor e-beam metrology into the world of laser diagnostics, felt like starting from scratch. Everything was new—the technology, customers, and the team. When my first customer escalation hit 2 months after starting work, I had prepared the data analysis and the proposed solution, but a few hours before the meeting, I asked my boss( Roei Yiftah ) "Would you have a look at my slides?" Boss: "Why?" Me: "Just to check if I made any mistakes." Boss: "So what if you made a mistake?" Me: "I am presenting to a customer. I don't want to make a mistake." Boss: "I trust your work. If you made one, it’s okay—you’ll correct it." The pressure shifted—from fear of failure to ownership. That’s what trust does. It doesn’t remove mistakes. It removes the fear around them. When you work in an environment where leaders make intentional space for you to grow, take risks, and learn from errors, you don't just "do your job"—you reach your highest potential. Have you experienced a moment like this? Or created it for someone else? #mks #Leadership #GrowthMindset #WomenInTech #PsychologicalSafety #CareerJourney

Month of April ... In an even year ... That does mean #AKL is coming up! I am excited to be over in Aachen again for the #lasercongress And I am going for a reason, as this is a very good event to connect and meet colleagues from the industry, partners, customers and friends from all these groups. Looking forward to many good discussions

LinkedInArtificial Intelligence

I’ve spent the last ~1.5 years working closely with AI models—mostly to write Python code for instrument control, automation, DoE, and data mining. Early on, the experience was… uneven. The models were helpful in fragments, but rarely dependable end-to-end. You still had to fight the tool as much as use it. That has changed. Yesterday, I revisited a model I had largely written off before. This time, I asked it to help build a full-stack application for an upcoming DoE—GUI, multi-device control, sequencing, and data collection. It delivered. In about 3–4 hours, I had a working, tested system and was back to collecting data the same day. That kind of turnaround would have taken days, if not weeks, not long ago. From where I stand as an engineer, this shift is not subtle. It’s structural. AI is no longer just a convenience—it’s becoming a serious multiplier: • Faster prototyping and iteration • Lower friction between idea and execution • A stronger push toward data-driven decisions • More room to challenge “how it’s always been done” So is AI a threat? Like any disruptive technology, it carries both risk and promise. Yes, it has the potential to reshape roles—including mine. But what I see more immediately is its ability to elevate how we solve problems—especially in complex engineering and scientific domains. For those willing to engage with it deeply, it’s less about replacement and more about redefinition. Personally, I find that exciting. Thank you MKS Inc. for the opportunities. Attached is a glimpse of what a half-day build now looks like—a full-stack application controlling multiple devices and collecting data. Not perfect. But real, functional, and already in use.
