I'm really looking forward to being back in NYC this week as part of Jersey Finance Flagship Week 2026 and speaking on this panel at the STEP lunch there on Thursday.
May 2026UPDATE TO THIS POST ABOUT THE JDCS The requirement for bank statements to include a standard disclosure about the JDCS has been removed from the DTB Code. HOWEVER, the updated JRDCA website is now live, and publishes a "Standard for Statements about the Jersey Bank DCS". It states that bank statements and terms and conditions (as well as adverts) are required to include the standard disclosure.
Apr 2026Really looking forward to the Regulatory Conference this year, especially the two new workshops we’re offering.
Apr 2026Event season is well under way, and this week there was fun at the AIMS User Working Group!
Apr 2026After finding a moment in the diary to circle back with you all and aligning on the low hanging fruit, the workplace translation guide returns, continuing where part 1 left off... 14. “If X were to happen, would it be a problem?” → X has happened. I did it. Please fix it. 15. “Do you have 5 minutes?” → It doesn’t matter. I’m coming in anyway. 16. “Can I just sense-check something with you?” → I've done it. We both know it. Just say it's fine. 17. “Just to flag…” → This is about to become your problem. 18. “You might want to take a look at this.” → Quietly passing you the grenade. 19. “Copying in [name] for visibility.” → I’m escalating this and pretending I’m not. 20. “Have you run this past Dave?” → I want nothing to do with this. 21. “It’s not a no, it’s a not yet.” → It’s a no. 22. “Gentle reminder…” → Do it now. 23. “Noted.” → I have no intention of acting on this. 24. “We want to give you the opportunity to own this.” → It went wrong. It’s yours now. 25. “Just a couple of minor tweaks.” → Full redesign. From scratch. 26. “I just want to try and understand the thinking here…” → This makes no sense. 27. “I’ll take that on board.” → I’m ignoring everything you just said. 28. “Just a thought…” → Do this. 29. “Let’s take a data-driven approach.” → I don't trust your judgement, but I'd like a spreadsheet to confirm it. 30. “Let’s keep it high level.” → There is no low level. We checked. 31. “We don’t know what we don’t know.” → We haven’t done the work. 32. “I just want to be transparent.” → You’re not going to like this. 33. “I’ll try my best.” → I’ll try very little. 34. “Nothing to worry about.” → Panic. 35. “Quick question…” → Quick to ask. Not quick to answer. 36. “Thanks in advance.” → Your problem now. Good luck. 37. “Per my last email.” → Read. My. Email. 38. “There’s a really interesting new matter just come in.” → It's not interesting and nobody wants it. 39. “Hi! It’s been too long!” → Plans A and B failed. You’re Plan C. Any I (or should I say “we”) have missed?
