for two months, developers said Claude Code got dumber. Anthropic said no. yesterday they said yes. three bugs. the weights didn't change. the harness around them did. one silently reset your context every turn instead of once an hour. one turned the reasoning effort down from high to medium on March 4, because the UI felt frozen while the model thought. one told the model to be less verbose, which in combination with the others made it worse at code. Nathan Brake (a senior engineer at Mozilla.ai ) posted this week that he'd started to feel powerless using the tool. he felt it before Anthropic admitted it. Claude is still probably the gold standard for coding. i use it every day, but that's not the point. the point is that for two months, the people paying for it had no way to know which Claude they were getting. this is what renting looks like. your vendor is allowed to swap the engine. you are not allowed to notice. ownership doesn't mean you built the model. it means you can measure what you're getting. evals. because nobody else will tell you what changed. link in comments.

Behind every localized product is a passionate contributor making technology accessible in their own language. Our Localizer Spotlight series highlights volunteers from around the world who bring Mozilla products to life in their communities. From long-time contributors sustaining smaller language ecosystems to newer contributors bringing fresh energy and perspectives, these stories showcase dedication, resilience, and the lasting impact of localization. If you’re interested in open source, language technology, or community-driven impact, I invite you to explore the series: 🔗 https://lnkd.in/gg7y8VqT These contributors remind us that localization is not just about translation — it’s about access, inclusion, and ensuring every language has a place on the web.

YouTubePDF rendering

I'd written some code pre-LLMs which used a PDF library from Mozilla. So, it's in JavaScript, but it can open a PDF and show you that PDF on the page.
