What an incredible night at The Webby Awards , celebrating those who use their voices to drive real change online. It was my profound honor to present actress Taraji P. Henson with this year's Webby Advocate of the Year award. Her fierce dedication to pay equity in Hollywood is driving important conversations about financial disparities, and her mental health advocacy is breaking stigmas and transforming communities across the nation. The NAACP proudly partners with the Webby Awards to recognize trailblazers who leverage their public platforms for good. Taraji exemplifies this mission perfectly, reminding us all of the power of authentic leadership.

I’m proud to share that on April 14th, the 2909B NAACP Temple University College Chapter hosted our Induction Ceremony centered on the theme “Continuing the Legacy. Leading the Movement.” This moment marked a powerful transition into our 2026–2027 Executive Board, where I was elected President of the chapter after serving as Vice President. I’m honored to step into this role and continue building on the foundation we’ve created. We also welcomed new members into our chapter, bringing us to 43 active members committed to advocacy, service, and community impact. My journey with the NAACP began in ACT-SO in Harrisburg’s Branch, and it has been incredibly meaningful to grow from that space into now serving as President of a Youth & College Chapter at Temple University. That journey has shaped my commitment to leadership, service, and long-term impact within the organization. During my time as Vice President, I focused on strengthening our chapter’s structure, partnerships, and community engagement. Some of my key accomplishments include: - Strengthening collaboration with the Philadelphia Branch and expanding external partnerships - Attending multiple Legislative Conferences with the Youth & College Division - Leading consistent monthly Executive Committee meetings to support accountability and growth - Supporting national compliance efforts, including AFR completion and organizing our first compliance election in three years - Coordinating service initiatives with Philadelphia People of Hope, including care package distributions - Partnering with Drexel and UPenn for Founders Day service work in the Philadelphia community - Hosting our first Image Awards Watch Party in collaboration with the Philadelphia Branch - Supporting campus wellness programming, including an American Heart Month partnership with 305 Fitness - Participating in campus advocacy efforts, including organizing and marching in support of immigration justice - Helping plan and execute successful community-building events such as Field Day Each experience reinforced my commitment to intentional leadership, service, and building sustainable impact.
