This Mother's Day, I'm celebrating the best thing I've done for myself — and for my daughter — in a long time. We take karate together 🥋 I didn't sign up, because I am a combat sport enthusiast. I signed up because she wanted to try it, and somewhere along the way I fell in love with it too. Now we're both on the mat, learning side by side, pushing each other to keep going when it gets hard. There's something special about your child watching you struggle with something new, and not quit. And something even more special about watching her do the same. Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there who are growing right alongside their kids! 💐💪
May 2026This week, I had the privilege of being selected by NewRez leadership for an exclusive AI bootcamp led by PhoenixTeam and Tela Gallagher Mathias . So, apologies if I owe anyone a text or email reply! I arrived Monday with absolutely no prior AI knowledge or experience outside of a few ChatGPT prompts. I leave today with 3 apps and 2 interactive webpages I built myself through several different LLMs, notably including Replit’s natural language vibe coding — a hands-on, intuitive approach to not just coding, but building anything you can imagine. A few things I’ll carry with me: The pace is real. What’s happening in AI is not distant future talk — it is happening now, and the best comparison I’ve heard is the internet circa 1995. Early, fast-moving, and full of opportunity for those who lean in. The barrier is lower than you think. You don’t need to be a developer. You need curiosity, willingness to experiment, and access to the right tools and guidance. The opportunities are endless. For individuals. For organizations. For industries like ours. I’m returning to Newrez energized and committed to being an AI change champion — helping our team understand how to use AI for good, drive results, and position ourselves at the forefront of the mortgage industry’s future. To anyone sitting on the sidelines: the learning curve is real, but it’s not steep. Start somewhere. The time is now. (And yes, this post was written by a mix of different LLMs) #AI #ProfessionalDevelopment #Newrez #Mortgage #Innovation #AIBootcamp #ThePhoenixTeam #Leadership
