Gordon Ramsay taught me how to fix my product. Lately, I've been binge-watching Kitchen Nightmares. Every failing restaurant Gordon walks into has the same three problems: 1. The menu is too big. They serve all the cuisines and all of them suck. 2. The owner takes feedback personally. Emotionally attached to dishes nobody orders. 3. The basics get neglected. Owner is obsessing over new menu ideas while the fridge is moldy. Guess what, I was doing all three with EditorOP. My original positioning: "Dump raw clips, get a viral reel out." Both halves vague. What kind of clips? What does viral even mean? Someone cooking eggs in a cave goes viral nowadays. So I cut the menu. New positioning: "Dump your talking-head clips, get a polished reel out in less than 3 minutes." Specific input. Specific output. One job, done well. Half my features didn't survive that decision. My faceless reel maker. Gone. Dead code. For 2 and 3 on my restaurant improvement journey, I need customers XD Which is why, if you're a content creator, video editor, or running an editing agency, and you want an AI editor that does one thing well, waitlist is open. May 2026I thought my AI video editor would be ready to ship a solid video today. It's not, yet. Day 4 of 30 building EditorOP. Sharing some wins - Added motion graphics that actually look good. I personally cannot edit like that ever. - Built the rearrange-clips flow so the timeline doesn't fight you. - Revamped a few UI sections that were embarrassing, and made it simpler and intuitive - Made the product feel a lot more intuitive than it did 48 hours ago. - Code quality improved Here's what I didn't get done: - Post the UI revamp, things which were working earlier are now breaking, need some more time to test before I can have a solid video out. So I'm not shipping a demo today. 😭 Keeping it short and honest If you're a #content creator, a video #editor , or running an editing #agency , and you want an AI editor that edits talking head videos in less than 3 mins and integrates well with your workflow. Do checkout editorop.com 🫡 The waitlist is live, looking for serious folks to try the product for free! #BuildInPublic #IndieDeveloper #videoediting #softwaredeveloper
May 2026The reason your product has no users isn't your product. It's you. That was me for two months, until I hit publish on my first video, 4 days back. As developers, our final goal is a safe prod deployment. Build the thing, ship it clean, pray the alerts don't trigger. But that's only the first step when you're selling a product. The next phase is the uncomfortable one. Talking to people. Getting them to use it. Hearing what's broken. We build from our hearts. Every feature feels personal, we're proud of what we make. Then you step out, show it to someone, and the idea of the perfect product breaks. That hurts. So we don't. Instead we vibe code. Building is so cheap now, it becomes the place you hide. Every new feature is an excuse not to talk to a customer. That's the transition though. Dev to founder. Day 3/30 of building editorop.com in public. If you hate editing your own videos and wanna do it in < 3 minutes, do check it out. 🫡 Signing Off, Devansh #BuildInPublic #IndieDeveloper #VibeCoding #softwaredevelopment
May 2026You're my boss now. Yeah, you read it right. Let me explain... For the first time ever, I report to no one 🫅 Feels powerful right ? Not if you spend the whole time watching reels. So I decided to commit a date. In the next 30 days, I'll be launching EditorOP, the AI based video editing tool that I am building and would be documenting my journey everyday starting today. If I don't, feel free to roast me, my product and scold me in public. Cheers to day 0 of 30 of building in public 🍺 #BuildInPublic #IndieHacker #AI #StartupLife #ProductLaunch
May 2026Day 1 of 30. Man plans, God laughs. Yesterday my grandfather passed away. I thought about not sharing this and make a video about it. But I promised to document everything honestly, what it really looks like building a business from my bedroom. The good days and the hard ones. So here it is. Showing up anyway. #BuildInPublic #IndieDeveloper
May 2026I quit my job recently. This video is the full story of why. 3 years as a software engineer in Bangalore. Good money. Amazing people. But somewhere along the way I stopped building things that excited me. Onto what I am building right now. Tool is called EditorOP, idea is to dump your raw talking head clips, get a fully edited reel in less than 3 minutes. The tool I always wished existed when I was creating content. If you are a content creator or a video editor, do check the product out. Join the waitlist → editorop.com I'll be building this in public so follow along Devansh .
May 2026I finally shipped something I've been working on for the last couple of weeks: LibriTalk is a tool that converts EPUB and PDF files into audiobooks. Upload a book or document, pick a voice, and get back an M4B audiobook with chapter markers. I built this for myself originally (for my wife, actually). We have a stack of nonfiction books and academic papers to listen to during the gym. Figured others might find it useful too. There are over 100 million books with no audiobook version. Professional narration costs thousands of dollars per title. AI voice quality has reached the point where it's genuinely useful — not perfect, but good enough for most use cases. Some potential use cases: - Self-published authors creating audiobook versions without the $3K+ narration cost - Researchers listening to papers while commuting - Professionals converting long reports into audio - Accessibility, making written content available to people who prefer or need audio It's free to try — one audiobook up to 30,000 words, no credit card needed. 🔗 libritalk.com I'd love feedback, especially from anyone who regularly listens to audiobooks.
