May 2026nmaipy 5.0.0 is out! Get it fresh with `pip install nmaipy` to help you pull our AI data the same way we do internally. It’s a rare privilege to spend time writing glue code that surfaces the work of scores of exceptional Nearmappers, and get that last mile kick out of putting it in the right shape for customers. While they design and build cameras, capture and process imagery, build custom deep learning models, run inference on 10,000+ GPU clusters, serve up hundreds of properties a second… nmaipy is just a little bit of glue on top that lets you pull bulk property data very fast, merge AI Feature API and Roof Age API results, and convert the rich vector maps into easier to consume tabular data - .csv and .parquet files. It started as basic example code emailed to Nearmap AI customers years ago, and has evolved through a lot of on-the-side hacking. 5.0.0 marks a stable release, where we are now using it internally for a wide range of things - from building training data sets for post-hoc modelling, exporting maps of an area, data for PoCs, or exporting samples for customers. While it’s “just” some python code to hit a couple of rest APIs (how hard can it be?), it’s of huge benefit to have well used, battle tested code that produces results in a reliable format, rather than everyone start from scratch. I've pulled a few hundred million requests with it over the years (to produce our AU and US national tree studies, as well as many customer projects). In combination with our developer docs, it's a great starting point for people using our AI APIs - whether just to take a quick look before doing your own implementation, or using it directly. Let me know how you go! https://lnkd.in/g9KamWsY https://lnkd.in/gNxEx3QV https://lnkd.in/gMWgW77Q

Apr 2026I was just looking at our Nearmap ImpactResponse captures from the devastating flooding in Michigan. The impact of frequent capture struck me... - We flew these areas on April 13th. Then, once the storms hit on April 17th. So you can see the true "before" and "after." In these images, you can see the work going on to try to prevent more flooding and homes that, unfortunately, have been damaged.
Apr 2026Deloitte's 2026 Engineering & Construction Industry Outlook landed this week — and buried inside the optimism is a warning the industry can't afford to ignore. The sector needs 499,000 new workers in 2026 alone. 41% of the current workforce is expected to retire by 2031. And the projected output loss from unfilled positions? Up to $124 billion. The labor model that built the industry is breaking. Here's what Deloitte says has to happen: firms must shift from traditional, labor-intensive models to digitally-enabled ecosystems — agentic AI, BIM, digital twins, and remote sensing replacing the site visits, manual reviews, and physical inspections that are no longer scalable. This is the part that resonates with what we see at Nearmap every day. When you can't put a person on every site, every week — you need eyes that never stop. High-resolution aerial imagery captured frequently, with AI that extracts what matters: site progress, vegetation encroachment, structural change, permit compliance, risk signals. Delivered as data, not just pictures. The firms winning in 2026 aren't hiring their way out of the labor shortage. They're building workflows where AI and spatial intelligence fill the gaps — letting their best people focus on judgment, not data collection. Data center construction is up 33% this year. Infrastructure investment is accelerating. The work is there. The question is whether the industry has the digital foundation to execute it. Apr 2026At Nearmap, we believe the future of property intelligence comes down to certainty. For too long, organizations have had to make critical decisions about properties using incomplete, disconnected data. That’s not just inefficient, it introduces real risk. Today, we’re taking a meaningful step forward in changing that. Our latest announcement brings together high-resolution aerial imagery, AI-powered analytics, and building materials intelligence into a unified platform, giving our customers a more complete, reliable understanding of the built environment. This is about more than innovation for its own sake. It’s about outcomes: → Helping insurers assess risk with greater confidence → Enabling governments to respond faster and plan smarter → Supporting AECO professionals with better insight from the start What makes this especially powerful is how we deliver it. Nearmap controls the full property intelligence value chain—from capture through to AI-derived insights—so our customers can rely on a single, consistent source of truth. We see this as a defining moment not just for Nearmap, but for the industry. The expectations for what property intelligence should deliver are changing—and we’re proud to help lead that shift. Apr 2026AEC Industry: The faster and more accurately your team can complete that assessment, the more bids you can pursue, the stronger your proposals become, and the lower your pursuit costs run. Nearmap gives AECO teams current, inspection-level site intelligence from the desktop. Impromptu site visits become a choice, not a requirement. https://lnkd.in/gDqdidzW
Apr 2026Anyone dealing with Property (Insurance, AECO, Government, Real Estate, etc.) has faced the challenge of working with a puzzle where the pieces come from different boxes. Imagery from one vendor. Analytics from another. Materials data only showing up after something goes wrong. And somewhere in the middle, people trying to stitch it all together to make critical decisions. Today, we're putting an end to that. Nearmap is redefining what property intelligence means — bringing together high-recency aerial capture, AI-derived analytics, and verified building materials data into a single, trusted platform. One source of truth. No more gaps. No more guesswork. This is the vision we've been building toward — and the acquisition of itel in 2025 was a pivotal step, bringing best-in-class building materials intelligence into the fold so that insurers, government agencies, and AECO professionals can go from image to insight to action, all in one place. When you can see what's on a property, understand how it's changed, and know exactly what it's made of — decisions get faster, risk assessment gets sharper, and uncertainty gets replaced with evidence. As Andy Watt put it: "Nearmap connects capture, AI-driven analysis, and materials intelligence into a single, reliable source of truth. When organizations can clearly understand what exists on a property and how it's changing, they can reduce uncertainty and make better decisions at scale." Proud of what this team has built — and excited about where we're headed. 🌏 Read the full announcement: https://lnkd.in/gPQcs2pH #PropertyIntelligence #Nearmap #AIAnalytics #InsurTech #GovTech #AECO #Geospatial #PropTech
