Yesterday our Carers ERG at Netwealth - See Wealth Differently (ASX:NWL) hosted an in-person & dial-in panel: Neurodiversity at work at home. Superbly facilitated by Dot Kennedy 💙 Caring for someone we love is one of the most important things many of us will ever do and what I loved about this session was how grounded it was in lived experience. A Netwealth carer, a leadership coach supporting a neurodivergent partner, and a psychologist who also lives it. The discussion was honest, warm and full of 'small things that make a big difference'. A few takeaways to share 👇🏼 💡See the person first, not the label: Neurodiversity isn’t one‑size‑fits‑all. Even two neurodivergent people can need very different things. 💡Lead with curiosity + flexibility: “What do you need?” and “What adjustments would make this easier?” goes a long way. 💡Communication can be the adjustment: clear expectations, the right pace, less noise, and written follow‑ups after meetings really matter. 💡Sensory load is real: pings, bright lights, noise, competing demands. Sometimes support looks like quiet options and flexibility in how and where work gets done. 💡Consistency helps: routines, clear transition points, and fewer last‑minute changes where possible (and when change is unavoidable, over‑communicate). 💡For carers (and anyone newly navigating diagnosis): go slow, pace yourself, connection first, and be kind to yourself. Support networks matter. One theme kept coming through. Less shame, more safety. When people feel safe to share what they need (at home and at work), support becomes practical, and life gets a little lighter. I'm proud we keep investing in things like ERGs and everyday flexibility at Netwealth, because employee experience isn't just about what happens between 9-5, it's about supporting people through real life, in all its complexity. #LifeAtNetwealth #Neurodiversity #EmployeeResourceGroups #Carers #Inclusion
May 2026I was fortunate to attend the Microsoft AI tour in Sydney today as part of their CEO connect program and hear Satya Nadella keynote and Fireside chat. Some of you would know he’s right on the top of my list when it comes to people I’d love to have dinner with and hearing him speak today confirmed this ! There are not many ( any ? ) leaders that have succesfuly changed the direction, culture and perception of a business, with 150,000 + employees, in such a short period of time and in such a genuine and consistent way to achieve the success they have. It’s truly amazing. Whilst a lot of what Satya spoke about supported our current understanding and direction as a company it was good to hear it said out loud and hear that we are thinking about and working on the right things. A few of the key points that stood out : - AI is no longer about pilots or experiments - AI is now in production, at scale, and delivering real outcomes. The gap between firms that are genuinely moving and implementing and those still exploring is widening fast. - The model ( LLM ) isn’t the moat. Everyone has access to the same models. What matters is what you wrap around them. Your data, your domain knowledge, your client relationships, your context. This is the real competitive layer. For us, that’s everything we’ve built, the data we have and our understanding of advice and how we can best support advisers to deliver better advice, to more Australians, more efficiently. - The world and how we work is now “multiplayer” Humans and agents working together, not one replacing the other. We think about this as Adviser led ( as opposed to Adviser in the loop ) The speed at which business gets done has genuinely shifted. - Security and trust aren’t optional extras in financial services, it’s the foundation. If you get this wrong nothing else matters. I remain slightly (very) terrified by the pace of change but (very) excited about where tech, AI and tokenisation is heading and what it means for netwealth, our staff, our profession and most importantly.. our clients ! Apr 2026Scaling a business like Netwealth - See Wealth Differently (ASX:NWL) without losing what made it great in the first place is harder than it sounds, especially in a highly regulated environment. This piece from HRD captures how we think about people, culture and guardrails as we grow.
