When I joined Google in 2011, my annual comp was ₹3.76L and 12 RSUs vesting over 4 years. If I had held every share and added all the refreshers over the next 5 years, I’d probably be worth around $400k today in 2026. But 15 years is a long time to hold onto shares. Life happens in between. I was obsessed with travel and seeing the world. So I spent a lot of my early Google shares doing that. I was happy I was not taking money from home. It was my hard earned stash and I spent it. Every single time Google hit a new all time high, I sold shares, someone laughed at me. “You’re selling Google stock?” “Do you know what this will be worth later?” And maybe they were right. In 2022 there was a 20-1 split and all the hold advice was right. A lot of friends who never sold are probably worth $4–5M now. Some still at Google are worth much more. But there’s one thing none of us can buy back. Time. Most of us are pushing 40 now. Families. Kids. Responsibilities. Expenses are 10x higher. Energy is lower. Everyone’s busy. Everyone’s tired. Everyone’s slightly anxious all the time. A lot of people want to start up, switch careers, take risks, slow down… but the money left on the table is too hard to walk away from. And now there’s constant layoff noise. AI replacing jobs. Entire layers of management becoming irrelevant. More money in the bank. More uncertainty in life. The funny thing is, when we all sit together and talk about our 20s and our first jobs, nobody talks about net worth. Nobody says, “Man, I wish I held more shares.” The one thing everyone says is: “F*ck, what I’d do to go back to that time.” We were broke. Living hand to mouth. Cheap rent. Budget flights. Random road trips. Terrible financial decisions. But we were alive. There was freedom in having nothing to lose. You could quit your job. Move cities. Backpack for months. Fall flat on your face and still recover. Parents were healthier. No wife. No kids. You could literally pack a bag and disappear for 3 months if you wanted to. You could make mistakes and still have time to fix them. That window closes faster than you think. I’m not telling anyone to spend money irresponsibly or ignore long-term wealth creation. Everyone’s situation is different. But over the last 15 years, watching friends across big tech optimize endlessly for compensation, promos, stock refreshers and net worth… Because this rat race is not going to end. My friends who have made Director are worried they wont make VP and my friends who are L6-7's are worried they'll never make Director. I’ve realized the real currency was never the money. It was time. And whether you used it on things that actually mattered to you.
May 2026A good fundraising story ≠ explaining every cool thing you've built. Sometimes it means leaving 40% of your technology out of the pitch. I keep seeing this with deep tech founders. They've built genuinely differentiated technology. And they assume the fundraiser story = explaining all of it. What people think a good fundraising story looks like: Founder explains all 20 use cases + full technical architecture + five-year vision = investor writes a check. What actually happens: The investor gets excited about the broad vision. But then hears use cases 4 out of 20, loses the thread, can't figure out what you're doing in the next year, and mentally checks out. Or puts you in the “too difficult to understand” bucket. The person across the table does not need to understand every layer of your tech. What’s often missing is something far simpler: how are you going to get your first five customers, and what does the next 12 months look like? That's what they're underwriting. Next 12-18 months and pathway to the next milestone. Here's what I'd do: 1. Cut 40% of the technology out of the deck. If it's not relevant to the next 12-18 months, it's likely noise. 2. Spend disproportionate time on go-to-market. Which customers buy first? Why them? What does the motion look like? How will you get them into production 3. Tell the five-year vision in two minutes, not twenty. The five-year story earns excitement. The 12-month plan earns conviction. Net: if your investor can't explain your next 12 months back to you in 30 seconds, you told the wrong story.
May 2026Before AI, I paid someone to - Build my website, manage content, do marketing and SEO - Code for me and build apps - Make decks, logos, create narratives and make things look good - Do my accounts and plan my finances - Hire for me. Write JDs, scout for resumes, do interview screening And so much more was delegated so I probably had time to do other things. While #ai has been great and I'm doing things I could not do before, the opportunity cost of time has just faded. I work a lot more than I did before and a lot harder. AI has not replaced jobs but it definitely has replaced the amount of time I spend on my screen. 100x. AI is also wanting me to learn everyday. I'm in continuous FOMO that I may miss out on the next big tool and not learn. While I haven't felt this level of excitement since the first day of practicals in engineering lab, the flip side is I spend a lot less time with my family and friends. Whether or not I make money from it is TBD but today instead of hiring people, I'm my own everything. I work a lot more than I ever have as much as I'm a lot wealthier than I ever was. The first question is not "who do I hire" but more "what can I do myself". This is not the first wave we have experienced in our lifetime but AI is making us all go to college all over again. Just without the social life and partying :)
May 2026Supplements, GLP-1s & Peptides: The Health Technologies You Can’t Ignore Anymore At Youlabs.co , we recently began our first physician-led longevity protocols with a small group of early participants, including myself. Most of us have been taking supplements for years — but without personalization, biomarker guidance, or a real understanding of absorption quality and bioavailability. So we sourced best-in-class global supplements and built individualized protocols based on biomarkers, genomic sequencing, recovery data, sleep, lifestyle patterns, and metabolic health. After four weeks, the early results have been fascinating. My HRV peaks and reductions in resting heart rate consistently correlate with periods of strict adherence to supplementation, dosage timing, recovery optimization, and sleep quality. For example, yesterday involved intense physical and cognitive exertion, yet I still woke up with an 87% recovery. While anecdotal and highly individualized, it reinforces our belief that precision-based protocols can materially improve recovery, resilience, and long-term health outcomes. I haven’t yet been cleared for berberine because some of my metabolic and liver markers are still outside optimal ranges. On the other hand, my protocol currently includes elevated antioxidant support, including Astaxanthin 12 mg, due to suboptimal liver-related markers. Our philosophy is simple: crawl → walk → run. One of the biggest flaws in modern healthcare is that most people are treated using population averages rather than individual biology. Yet no two metabolic systems, genomic profiles, or recovery responses are identical. We believe AI will become one of the most powerful tools in medicine — not because it replaces physicians, but because it can synthesize, query, and correlate massive amounts of health data across specializations far beyond human capacity. The future is not AI versus doctors. The future is AI-powered physicians delivering precision medicine at scale. Our vision is to build India’s first hyper-personalized longevity concierge — physician-led, AI-enabled, and grounded in real biomarker science. Our licensed doctors will leverage proprietary health models, genomic interpretation, longitudinal biomarker tracking, and state-of-the-art AI infrastructure to deliver individualized protocols at scale. As part of this effort, we’re also developing an India-specific longevity score built on 141 biomarkers, genomic sequencing, recovery data, and metabolic health indicators. Because the goal isn’t simply to live longer. It’s to preserve cognition, mobility, energy, and quality of life for as long as possible. There is little value in reaching 100 without vitality, independence, and mental clarity. If the next decade of healthcare becomes proactive, preventive, and personalized, #longevity won’t be a luxury category — it will become foundational healthcare.
