💧Proud to see Acwa taking a leading role as Vision Sponsor of the Global Water Summit 2026 by Global Water Intelligence (GWI) . With 9.8 million m³/day of desalinated water production and globally benchmarked RO assets Acwa continues to set new standards at the intersection of water, energy, and large-scale infrastructure delivery. It is a clear example of how advanced engineering, digital optimization, and disciplined execution are reshaping the desalination landscape. I’m genuinely excited to be attending Global Water Summit 2026 in Madrid and especially honored to be hosting a technical roundtable: 💡“40 Urgent Questions for the Water Transition” This session will focus on the real engineering and operational challenges driving the next phase of the industry — from RO performance optimization, energy efficiency, and asset reliability, to scaling next-generation technologies like advanced membranes, hybrid systems, and AI-enabled water operations. Looking forward to engaging with global utilities, developers and technology innovators to exchange practical insights and challenge conventional thinking across the water value chain. See you in Madrid #GWS2026 #GlobalWaterSummit #WaterSector #Desalination #WaterTransition #WaterSecurity #ReverseOsmosis #DigitalTransformation #Sustainability #WaterInnovation

May 2026I can't enjoy sports anymore... Not because the games got worse. Because I can't escape the casino 🎰 that's been built around them. Every broadcast. Every halftime show. Every "analysis" segment. Moneylines. Spreads. Odds. It's not sports coverage. It's a gambling advertisement with a game attached. CBS sent me more push notifications last week about opening a Kalshi account than breaking news alerts. They didn't call it gambling. They called it "Event Contract Trading." That's not a rebrand. That's a cover-up. And the older I get, the more personal this becomes. I've watched people I love get swallowed by this thing. Good people. Smart people. People who never saw it coming. So when I see the numbers, they aren't abstract to me: 🚨Problem gamblers are 15x more likely to commit suicide. 🚨60% of gambling profits come from just 5% of players. The addicts. That's not a bug in the model. That's the model. 🚨Young men 18 to 30 are 3x more likely to develop a gambling problem. The industry targets them on purpose. This isn't a fringe industry. It lives inside the S&P 500. Inside most portfolios. Including maybe yours. Which brings me to the only question that matters: Do I really want to profit from addiction? I don't. And I don't think I'm alone. #FinancialAdvisors #WealthManagement #FinancialPlanning #FaithBasedInvesting
May 2026From the first picture in October 2025, where I met Mr. Ali preparing tirelessly for his Technical Qualification Program test, to the second picture where he was personally carrying a SWAS resin column to the workshop for repair. This is the kind of dedication that truly inspires. What makes this even more special is the mindset behind it: learning has no age limit. No matter how experienced we become, continuous learning and self development will always remain essential for both personal and professional growth. Proud to see such great examples of passion, commitment, and willingness to always learn and contribute beyond expectations.
May 2026Yesterday, I had the privilege of delivering a keynote at the Asia-Pacific Water Security Innovation Summit under the Shanghai Climate Week 2026 in Shanghai, speaking on "Financing Water Security: From Commitments to Bankable Projects." Standing on that stage, I was reminded how much of what we do in this industry is built on collective efforts – not individual performance. No amount of experience prepares you for a room full of experts who challenge your thinking and sharpen your perspective. I walked away learning more than I shared. I spoke about how ACWA has reduced the levelized cost of water and specific water consumption since 2007 – not through magic, but through relentless focus on life cycle cost analysis, continuous deployment of proven-but-advanced technologies, and integrating solar PV with reverse osmosis desalination combined with AI and big data applied to real-time plant monitoring and predictive performance. The whole idea was to emphasize that technology which improves unit economics is the technology that attracts private capital. I also walked the audience through Rabigh-3 IWP – a 600,000 cubic meter per day desalination plant in Saudi Arabia. Awarded in 2018 at a world-record tariff. Financed conventionally in 2019 with bank debt. Then, in 2025, our global finance team did something unprecedented: they issued the Middle East's first-ever blue bond for a water desalination project. IFC-compliant. Triple tranche. 21-year fixed rate. Investment grade rated by S&P. Why does this matter for Asia? Because Rabigh-3 proves that water infrastructure – when structured correctly with long-term Water Purchase Agreements, proper risk allocation, and proven technology – can attract long-term, cross-border, institutional capital. No refinancing risk. Just bankable contracts. I obviously take no credit for this. Our global finance and technical teams – the people who structured the deal, ran the models, and built the asset – they are the ones who made a template for the industry. I was just fortunate enough to share their story. Special thanks to Sarah Alharthey for her encouragement and providing this platform and Shenghai LYU for his support from project finance. I remain a student of this sector. The gap between capital commitments and bankable projects is still wide. But conferences like this remind me that the right people are working on the right problems – together. The questions from the audience were sharp. The skepticism was honest. The shared commitment was real. #WaterInnovation #FinancingWaterSecurity #ACWAPower #BankableProjects #SDG6 #teamwork
