Porchfest was Saturday and I was fully prepared for my daughter to have a meltdown in the middle of the event. Porchfest is one of the many local events here in West Chester, where streets are closed down, live music is playing, and good vibes are all around. For many people, this is a really fun event, but for Lana, who has Autism, it can bring stress and anxiety because of the unknown. So once we got there, we did our normal routine and took baby steps. We started at Everhart Park, so she could play in the playground. She loves it there and is familiar with it. After that we started to walk down one street where the bands were playing. Lana alternated holding hands with me and Jaime, as we both repeatedly checked in with her and monitored her body language, to see if the loud noises were triggering her. Then something happened that we weren't expecting… nothing. Nothing happened. No overstimulation, no discomfort, no meltdowns. Instead, we were able to sit in a lawn chair listening to music, while Lana sat on the curb with her friends eating mint chocolate chip ice cream from Scoops 'N' Smiles.
May 2026I figured it was time to introduce myself a bit more formally, given that I’ve connected with quite a few people in the last couple of weeks. I grew up in the Douglassville area and before graduating high school in 2022, I was faced with a decision: go to college or begin building a career in the financial services industry with New York Life. I chose to take the opportunity with New York Life, and looking back four years later, it’s been one of the best decisions I could have made. I started my career as a financial services representative. However earlier this year, I made the move from New York Life to Vista Wealth Solutions to expand the ways I’m able to work with clients and better help them achieve what’s most important to them through the financial planning process. What drives me most is family, both my own and the families I have the privilege of working with every day. I believe in serving clients with the same level of care, commitment, and attention that I would want for the people closest to me. I’m excited to continue growing, learning, and connecting with others here. I’m looking forward to what’s ahead.
May 2026Team New York Life took the links to support the first annual NoCo Women in Business Golf Tournament. Fantastic event, spectacular crew, amazing cause!
May 2026A Roth IRA is one of my favorite tools to use when helping people build long-term wealth. The ability to grow investments tax-free and potentially take qualified withdrawals completely tax-free in retirement can be incredibly powerful over time. For younger investors especially, consistency and time matter more than trying to be perfect. Small contributions made early can make a major difference down the road. I also like the flexibility Roth IRAs provide compared to many other retirement accounts. At Felton Financial, we believe financial planning should be personal, easy to understand, and built around your specific goals — not a one-size-fits-all approach. A Roth IRA is one of the tools we often use to help clients work toward those goals over the long run.
May 2026If it relies on memory… it won’t happen. Not because you don’t care. Because life gets busy. Bills, work, distractions, things get missed. That’s why the stuff that actually works is usually automatic. Savings. Transfers. Contributions. Set it once. Let it run.
