Sometimes, a book catches your attention from the first few pages because it talks about real life and real experiences 👷🏻 While reading 📕 Navigating High Stakes Competition 📕 by Dr. Salim Al Harthy , one thing really stood out to me the foreword written by Dr. Mohammed Al Barwani ✨ It made me think about how leadership in #Oil & #Gas is not only about business or competition ‼️it is about handling pressure, making the right decisions, staying strong during challenges, and working together as one team 👏🏻 The first chapters already carry valuable lessons about #growth , #resilience , and #learning how to move forward in challenging environments ♻️ This feels like more than just reading a book 📖 it feels like a journey of learning and reflection 🛫 It’s been a while since I bought the book but like many journeys in life, sometimes we pause in the middle 👌🏻 but what matters is finding the motivation to return and continue 📖

Some people retire, but very few leave behind a legacy like #Venkat 🌻 Venkat came to Oman in 1991 and joined TOCO - The Oman Construction Company LLC in 1995. From that day, he kept learning, growing, and giving his best until he became one of the best QA/QC professionals many of us have worked with 👏🏻 I first met him in 2012, and since then, I have seen what true dedication looks like. Venkat was always there for everyone. Even when I was on leave or away from Oman on assignment, he would still call and check on me, that kind of care is rare 👌🏻 He was not just good at his job he could do almost everything. Inspector, planner, cost estimator, project engineer, civil advisor, whatever the challenge was, Venkat would step in and help 🫱🏻🫲🏻 During shutdowns, when pressure was high and things got stressful, there were moments when anyone could feel frustrated. But that was Venkat give him a few minutes, and he would come back smiling, joking, and lifting everyone’s mood like nothing had happened, that was his big heart 😊 It was not easy standing next to him at the airport and watching him leave. That moment was heavy because it felt like saying goodbye to someone who had become part of our daily lives and our journey 🌱 Today, when Hamood Alghafri said, “We are missing Venkat,” it touched me deeply and pushed me to write this post ✍🏻 Because in the end, retirement is not just about finishing years of service. It is about the mark you leave behind. It is about your fingerprint in people’s lives, the good memories they carry, and the prayers they make for you after you leave 🌹 This is what life is about to leave goodness behind, to be remembered with respect, and to earn sincere prayers from the people whose lives you touched 🤲🏻 Venkat is truly a superstar ⭐ Wishing him a happy, healthy, and peaceful retirement in India his second home 🇮🇳 For all his dedication, loyalty, and the way he supported and developed so many Omanis, Oman will always be his first home in our hearts 🇴🇲
