A few months ago, Karmeq was just an idea. An idea that gifts could be more than just flowers, chocolates, or items that fade with time. We believed gifting could be meaningful and lasting. Something that grows with the person receiving it. That’s why we built Karmeq — a platform that lets people send stocks as gifts for special moments like graduations 🎓, birthdays 🎂, celebrations, and milestones. Unlike traditional gifts, these gifts have the potential to grow in value over time — turning a thoughtful gesture into something that could create long-term impact. Last week, we crossed a milestone that felt surreal to us: 500 gifts sent using Karmeq 🎁 But honestly, it’s not the number that makes this special. It’s the stories behind those 500 gifts. A parent gifting stocks to celebrate their child’s graduation. A birthday surprise sent from another city. Friends and families choosing to gift something meaningful for the future, not just the moment. Every order carried emotion, trust, and intention with it. And being able to play even a small role in those moments is something we don’t take lightly. Building something from scratch comes with uncertainty. There are quiet days, difficult days, and moments where you wonder if what you’re building truly matters. Then milestones like this happen — and they remind you why you started. To everyone who trusted Karmeq to be part of their special moments: thank you This milestone belongs to all of you as much as it does to us. 500 is just the beginning, and we’re incredibly excited for the journey ahead #Karmeq #StartupJourney #Milestone #StockGifting #GraduationSeason #BirthdayCelebrations #Fintech #BuildInPublic
May 2026Gift cards are one of the most common gifts in the world. They’re also one of the most forgettable. A lot of them go unused. Most lose value the moment they’re spent. We kept asking ourselves: Why can’t gifting create ownership instead of consumption? That question led us to build Karmeq — a FINRA/SEC-registered platform that enables people to buy and send stocks as gifts. Instead of gifting something that disappears, what if a graduation gift could compound for years? We believe gifting can become a new distribution layer for financial ownership — starting with families and milestone moments. Still early, but excited by the traction and conversations we’re seeing so far. Curious if others think gifting should evolve this way too. Would love your thoughts. 👇 Example of a Tesla stock graduation gift sent through Karmeq
May 2026A few days ago, I caught up for coffee with a few leaders from fast-growing startups here in Mexico — a mix of fintech and product teams. Founders and leaders were explaining operational and engineering challenges. On paper, everything looked solid. Strong engineers. Modern tech stack. Hiring was going well. But as the conversation went deeper, a different picture emerged. One team had scaled quickly, but every release still depended on the same 2–3 people. Another had multiple squads working hard, but each was optimizing for different priorities. In one case, product and engineering were both moving fast — just not in the same direction. From the outside, it looks like an execution problem. But the common theme from that discussion was something else: Alignment. Not lack of talent. Not broken systems. Just teams pulling in slightly different directions. The instinct is usually to add more tools or more process. But what seemed to work better was much simpler: clear ownership, fewer priorities, and alignment on outcomes. Nothing dramatic — but the impact was immediate. Interesting how often the biggest challenges aren’t technical. Curious if others are seeing a similar pattern as teams scale in LATAM?
Apr 2026Lately, I’ve been spending some time exploring AI tools and building a small personal project for my kid. One pattern I’ve already noticed: It’s surprisingly easy to build something that looks impressive… and surprisingly hard to make it actually useful. A demo looks great. Everything works. It feels like “this could be big.” And then… It just sits there. Not because the model isn’t good, but because it doesn’t naturally fit into how people actually work. It made me realize something: Adoption is probably the hardest part of any “innovation.” Not the build. Not the tech. Just getting it into someone’s daily workflow. Curious, what’s something you’ve built (or tried) that looked great… but didn’t really stick?
