LinkedInFinance Transformation

Wrapped a full week of business process testing tied to our Oracle implementation, followed immediately by narrative reporting training sessions -12 straight days focused on getting this right. It was a lot of work, a lot of detail, and the team stayed engaged through all of it - which is what actually makes something like this successful. I appreciate the partnership from Argano in helping move this forward. And a shoutout to our event services team - especially Cristie Rogers - for keeping everyone going. Turns out a steady supply of snacks and candy doesn't hurt either. The system matters. But getting the team aligned and able to execute through change matters more. Good progress these past weeks. #Leadership #Oracle #FinanceTransformation

Tomorrow I take on the biggest challenge of my life: Ironman Texas. When I was younger, my dad and I went to Tremblant during the Ironman. He told me, “Those people are almost inhuman, they achieve something almost impossible.” That stayed with me for years. Until July last year. I got that itch. So I signed up. Fully committed. Never done a triathlon before. Many told me it wasn’t the normal path. Good. I’m not aiming for normal anyway. When I signed up, I couldn’t swim more than 25 meters. A lifeguard laughed when I told him I was doing a full Ironman. Honestly, I don’t blame him. He couldn’t see the vision or what I was willing to endure to achieve it. The only person who needs to believe in the vision is you. No one else. Let them talk. Let them doubt. Prove yourself right. This preparation has taught me far more than training. It taught me that with bigger goals and bigger vision comes a required higher output. Every week required structure and discipline far beyond just workouts: – Bringing my bike and trainer to hotels – Packing multiple suitcases just to make sure I could train properly on the road – Scheduling sessions around changing pool hours and travel constraints – Working out before the sun comes out or after it comes down. It forced me to become more organized, more intentional and more disciplined in every part of life. If you have a goal that scares the hell out of you, commit right now. You won’t believe the person you’ll become in the process. But you have to fully commit, no backing out when it gets tough, because it will trust me. This journey also made me reflect on something deeper: chasing personal goals like this makes you a better in your respective career. The proof? The average age-group finisher earns over $250,000 a year. Yes, it’s an expensive sport, but what I take from that isn’t the money. It’s that successful people like to do hard things. They seek discomfort. They push their limits. It becomes a constant quest to discover what they’re capable of personally and professionally. On that note, I can’t wait to become an…
