May 2026I’m incredibly proud and excited to support the DecodeME project and the important work being done to advance research into ME/CFS and Long Covid, alongside Action for ME , EMBL and The University of Edinburgh . These conditions have a profound impact on millions of people worldwide, yet research into their underlying causes has historically been underfunded and underrepresented. So much so that ME was only recently acknowledged as a health condition. That’s why it’s so encouraging to see DecodeME secure new funding to continue this vital work. By contributing to one of the largest disease specific whole-genome sequencing datasets, with thousands of genomes being analysed, the project has the potential to uncover the genetic drivers behind these complex diseases. The ultimate goal is clear: to build a better understanding of ME/CFS and Long Covid, paving the way for improved diagnosis, better care, and more targeted treatments for patients. It has been inspiring to be part of a project helping to drive meaningful progress in an area where so many people have waited far too long for answers. The collective team working behind the scene with dedication to make a change are superhuman in my book and motivate Oxford Nanopore Technologies to do more everyday! May 2026Absolutely brilliant that this study is going ahead. Like many people, I have many friends affected by conditions that cause chronic exhaustion. Which is worse - the affects on those lives, or the way society can sometimes respond to a condition whose causes are so hard to characterise? Looking forward to seeing more light shed on the causes, through the lens of information rich genomics 💪 Oxford Nanopore Technologies Action for ME EMBL The University of Edinburgh Tonya McSherry Nirmala Santiapillai
May 2026Reposting this amazing experience with a truly outstanding team 🧬✨ Oxford nanopore technologies is becoming an essential part of every modern genomics lab. With ONT, we are moving toward a future where nothing remains undiagnosed and where new discoveries become possible every day. 🚀 To this incredible group: your harmony, engagement, curiosity, and passion made this one of the most memorable trainings I’ve ever delivered. May 2026Last day of AEGH 2026 - During our workshop yesterday, Mathilde Filser and Stephan Ossowski showed how long reads, access to modified bases and allelic resolution with Oxford Nanopore Technologies sequencing help resolve difficult cases on a daily basis. Thanks to our speakers for their amazing talks! Did you miss it? If you want to know more about Nanopore sequencing and sequencing enrichment with only a 4h wetlab prep, there is still time to come and talk to our team Alfonso Troyano , Camila Parrot , Wesley Delage Cristina Gamba , Céline MIGANEH , Aitor Quintela Lopez Nahuel Manzanaro Moreno . Go and have a look at the posters, great work by LongSeq Applications on showing clinical utility of nanopore reads in FSHD. #cancer predispositions #rare diseases #sequencing #epigenetics #AI
Apr 2026Really pleased to see this move forward. Building on a successful first phase of collaboration, Oxford Nanopore Technologies and Cepheid are taking the next step in developing faster, more accessible workflows for infectious disease research. The opportunity here is clear: better pathogen identification and AMR profiling, with the potential over time to support earlier decisions and a stronger health system response. Strong partnerships help turn potential into progress, and it's great to see this one continue to develop.
Apr 2026Come and listen to Bambino Gesù Children’s Hospital and North-West University and learn how Oxford Nanopore Technologies sequencing in combination with Geneyx Genomex Ltd. analysis tools can resolve challenging rare disease cases and help families. 30th of April - 17.00 CET https://lnkd.in/eyMX-5uV
